Title: "I am Blondi" - Hitler's dog handling fast moving food

Hi,

here's my next game after "cubicle cat superstar"

In this one here you are the world most famous dog nobody knows.
And your master is the world's most notorious ultra super evil super villain.

Your master throws you an endless stream of fast moving treats right in your face, and being a dog (with no political agenda btw.) you just want to eat it all (click on it).
However, cos it's Hitler, he also tries to kill you for no apparent reason and throws you occasional hand grenades in your face as well, which you have to slap away, or else you die. and if you happen to eat one by accident; game over as well.

Stupid as I am, I did ALL the graphics BEFORE even setting up a playable prototype to test if this idea is playable at all.
but hey; when u get carried away ...  :)

however: it's playable by now and seems to be working okayish. I'm gonna implement:
- exponentially increasing spawn amount and movement speed.
- a "master's mood" bar which keeps ur challenge up.
-  and some "random fit" mechanic that requires you to cower and beg for as long as your evil master bitches and screams at you (for no reason of course).

I do animation and illustration for a living. So doing the graphics is what's most fun for me. the programming part takes a bit longer :-)

I usually do all graphics (GUI and illustrations) in Flash (for me; the fastest vector tool still). and then I pimp it up in photoshop for texture export.

how much code is needed to get all the annoying framework stuff up and running, that has NOTHING to do with your actual game mechanics  ;D

mapping out vital core functionality while being pissdrunk is hereby not recommended  :D

long time no post!
real life work grind - thank you so much.

some updates:
the game is 95% finished now (huzzah).

Immense development acceleration when one decides to dump all Google Play services aka social media stuff.
all of a sudden the game becomes fast,robust and streamlined.
so no highscore online board, but also: no ads! (wheee)
not so bad for a free game.

ah, but where's the fun if - once in a while- you dont come across the odd ONE tiny missing texture that just insists on f*cking up ALL your assets ;-)

Lovely artwork and funny overall concept. I like the look of it, but to be honest I don't really get the gameplay.

Like how will it play? The player doesn't move the dog to catch treats? The treats are flying at the dog and the player justneeds to click on a treat?
So if they don't click on it, does it hit the dog in the face or something?

I hope that last screenshot was not too much trouble to fix.

Ya, the dog doesnt move. there is a horde of treats flying across the screen and you have to clickmash them all to "eat". if you miss one: minus points on the "mood" bar (= health bar).

there is also grenades inbetween which mean instant game over when u click on them by accident,

and theres random anger fits hitler has, where you have to hold down the "beg" button until the game resumes /this recharges your health bar btw/,

so basically you need to multitask thrice and should really have a fast reaction time and high stress tolerance ;-) (I myself am too old and slow to play my own game apparently, and one of my beta testers nearly threw the phone at the wall. not sure if that's good or bad though  ;D ).

oh, and everything accelerates by 15% every 5 seconds :-)

ah, that sweet moment when you test the latest build and suddenly realize: there is absolutely nothing you want to change or needs fixing!
(super rare and cherished, nearly unreal moment)  :) :) :)

gonna post this in the finished projects section now. wheeee.


PS: ok, the IOS version had the usual hickups.
link.xml problems, certificate issues etc.
