Title: LeanTween Support
Post by: dentedpixel on February 27, 2013, 11:58:31 AM
Hi Playmaker,

I am the author of the animation engine LeanTween (http://u3d.as/content/dented-pixel/lean-tween/31i (http://u3d.as/content/dented-pixel/lean-tween/31i)). Many of the users of LeanTween have been requesting Playmaker support. I imagine this could be supported in similar way as iTween. Please let me know if you would be interested in adding this support and I can make any necessary updates to LeanTween to make it work.

Cheers,
DentedPixel

Hi,

that's a very good initiative indeed. You could also study how I ported Hotween actions, you will find examples on how to tween Fsm variables, which is something very handy within playmaker.

I would also like to see LeanTween support in Playmaker!

Absolutely!

iTween is excellent but if there is an alternative that does the same thing more efficiently I don't see why we wouldn't want that.

Thanks for the tip Jean!  And thanks for the enthusiasm from everyone else.

If anyone else has experience with Playmaker and writing plugins, I would be happy to support the process. I am a little swamped at the moment with other initiatives, but if nobody else can help out with this it is something I want to pursue.

Any progress on this?

Hi,

Ok, I have added this leanTween task to the trello board:

https://trello.com/c/r5WgB30I/35-leantween

Don't forget to vote it up to get promote and done quicker.

@dentedpixel I can add you to this trello board and task if you want, then I can promote it straight to "Doing" section since it's officially supported by you.

As for me helping out, I have to first finish the pending task ( shown in the "Doing" section"), then I'll get back to you and see how we can make progress on this.

 Jean

+1 for playmaker support. Lean Tween sounds like a great replacement for iTween!

Hi,

Make sure you vote for it on trello, this way I can keep track of your whishes, putting +1 in a forum thread will get lost when I have to pick my next task.

bye,

 Jean

About the vote on the board, I don't know if it was the intended behavior, but only the members can actually vote. :(

Hi,

Yes, it's a trello restruction unfortunatly. Problem is i haven't found anything better than trello for our purpose.

Mh not sure about that, I'm also on the Spine trello and everyone can vote :)

Maybe something in the options?

( Trello is a really good tool and I'm glad you're using it btw ;)  )

Hi,

If you know how to set Trello up to allow voting without being a member of the board ( or allow people to join a board by themselves), I am all ears, I could not find anything on this.

bye,

 Jean

Hi,

Thanks, I am not sure how I could miss that help section and actual interface... d'oh :)

 Much more accessible now!

Is there any estimate of when LeanTween support might be added?

I've just been looking at it, as my performance on Android was horrible when using iTween. LeanTween seems too good to be true!

(Yes, I have voted on the Trello board btw  :) )

Hi,

It's coming next, I can't really commit on a time frame unfortunatly... But I would expect this to be address towards end of january.

Ouch?

The last message above mentioned January, so as it's now nearly April, I thought I'd ask if there was a new estimate.

Hi,

yep, I can't really commit to any release date unfortunatly :) that's what I meant by "ouch" :) everytime I try to set a target ( like january), it just wooshes at great pace.

Basically, based on Trello tasks votes. Rain and Adventure Creator will get a treat first, then LeanTween.

Also, meanwhile, you can use hotween ( if iTween is not suitable for some reason), it's been ported to PlayMaker and has excellent perfs and support.

 Bye,

 Jean

Bump: Hotween could need some TLC if we are waiting for LeanTween. iTween is really a problem, so in fact there's no 'primary' and fully working tween as of writing this..

And throw the Daikon Forge tweening system into the mix, which claims to be more efficient than HOTween and LeanTween.

I've asked a couple of times for DF Tween to be added to Trello for voting, but again my posts are being ignored.

Hi all,

I've just submitted a pack of LeanTween Actions to Asset Store. Will cover most of the methods. I'll announce it when it gets approved.

These methods are covered in the initial release. (Check the attachment)

PS. LeanTween's performance is really impressive.

Any chance of a Shake action in there?  (with options to control how strong it is)
Title: Re: LeanTween Support
Post by: Flying Robot on July 10, 2014, 10:03:54 AM
Each action is formatted as below.

You can access the Ease shake option from the ease type. But I'm afraid LeanTween doesn't have any option for editing the individual ease type falloff, strength. etc.

I have LeanTween + the Playmaker actions.

How do I do MoveBy? I want to move by an amount every 1 second - this is one command in iTween but I can't get it working in LeanTween - the moves all seem to move to a specific place. Thanks.

Well, the Lean Tween Suite of classes doesn't have a built in move by. So, I didn't make a action counterpart of it. Though it seems a good action to add.

For now, you can add some simple actions to get the same things done with Lean Tween move.

Use a 'get position' of your moving object and store it as a vector3, then you can add the distance you want to move by on the axes using 'vector3 add xyz' and then use LeanTween Move to this position. Repeat it upon completion.

Let me know if you get it working.

Is it possible to have one game object with two LeanTween actions? For example, tween an object up and down (pingpong) and also move left and right. So it snakes up and down while moving? I add two actions and it just freezes the objects.

Post by: Flying Robot on February 05, 2015, 08:46:47 AM
So, you want to use two move tweens on one object. I don't think the tweens will add up like that.

Why don't you use a child and apply movelocal LT on that. I mean your parent can movetween up and down and child can movetween left and right.

I bought the Flying Robot LeanTween actions but I had a lot of confusion with it... At one point LeanTween closed down my project because it ran out of (something or other). It does seem faster, but I am still learning so I am probably not ready for the advanced class... (and yesterday I learned I had some basic playmaker concepts backwards)

I'm sure I'll come back to it later, but for now I dropped back to Itween.  :-\

LeanTween is much faster than Itween. Once you get to use it, I don't think you will go back to Itween.

If you are stuck anywhere using LT Actions just PM/mail me. Will be happy to help you out.

Hello,
is there an option to add the "To" actions from itween into LeanTween?
Like Move to or Rotate to?

greetings

The 'move' action in LTActions is essentially the 'move to' of itween.
