Title: Future IL2CPP support
Post by: escpodgames on January 19, 2015, 04:43:57 PM
Hi,

Just wanted to make sure this is being considered as Apple will soon make it mandatory to support 64bit on iOS, unity are moving on support for 4.6
http://blogs.unity3d.com/2014/11/20/apple-ios-64-bit-support-in-unity/

Will playmaker handle/support this?

Yes, we've been working with Unity on IL2CPP support since they introduced it for WebGL builds. IL2CPP is still in beta, so occasionally something breaks, but full compatibility is our goal, and Unity has been using Playmaker to help test IL2CPP completeness, so I'm pretty confident that it will work well with Playmaker :)

Excellent, releasing a game around the time all this change is happening is a little worrying. This news makes it easier to sleep :) Thx Alex

Now that 64bit iOS support and IL2CPP have been released by Unity, are there any problems we should know about?

Cheers
Steve

I am also getting 66! Mach-O Linker errors like you posted in: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/lots-of-apple-mach-o-linker-errors-since-updating-to-4-6-2.294992/ Steve.

I deleted the Playmaker, Gizmos and iTween folders from my project and then the generated XCode Project compiled just fine!
Obviously my game doesn't work without Playmaker, but the 66 Mach-O Linker errors are gone once the Playmaker files are removed!

So please fix this asap Playmaker devs, since 64bit iOS support is mandatory now.

Thanks for your reply.

I might do the same as you as a test, but sounds like we're stuck until Hutong and/or Unity come up with a fix.

I just did the same, stripped out Playmaker and iTween, and it builds fine. Now it just comes down to whether it's a problem with Playmaker or Unity not carrying the necessary files over to Xcode when it builds.

Anyone from Playmaker have any answers?

Cheers
Steve
