Thanks krmko, I started watching that and it felt a bit too side-on catapult specific but I'll try and give it another watch.

I saw it, but from reading the reviews I was a little hesitant to buy it.

There's a non-Playmaker mini golf game on the Asset Store for €3 so might buy that and see if I can understand the script enough to make it into an FSM.

I'll also give the Ecosystem a look.

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone built a 'pull back to launch' mechanic in Playmaker?

I have a vague idea of the theory but don't really know where to start practically. Ideally I need it for a top down camera setting in 2D or 3D, rather than left to right like Angry Birds.

I'm not necessarily looking for someone to build the whole thing but a nudge ibn the right direction would be great.

Hi everyone, just a quick post to let you all know my new game for iOS is out. It's called Tower Blast! and is a fun little arcade game with a similar feel to Missile Command. If you get a chance you can download it here: https://goo.gl/uU986A

It uses Playmaker extensively, as well as a few other assets including Pooly, iOS Native and CN Controls, all of which have Playmaker actions available.

What platform?

I use iOS Native from Stan's Assets and have recently incorporated IAP in a project for the first time with no issues. I wanted to use the Unity IAP but there are currently no Playmaker actions for it.

To counter, I'd just like to say that this forum is always great and does exactly what a forum should, bring users of the software as well as members of the company together to answer questions and help each other out.

I recently had a similar problem to the OP and the team were great at finding a solution, including adding me to the beta testing group, something they didn't have to do. But I realise in order to help them fix things I had to give them as much info as I could, I couldn't just post a vague description like 'Trigger doesn't work, help please'. I went through about four days of problem solving first, pretty much re-importing every single file of a very large project one by one until I could narrow things down and find what was causing the problem (turns out it was the Global Variables file). Despite this being a massive pain I knew it was necessary in order to solve the problem.

Also, if you think it a problem with Playmaker, file a bug report.

So, thank you to the PM team and the community. Keep up the great work, without you I wouldn't be making games.

I've done a bit more testing and the same thing happens with other System Events. In my test scene I tried it with Collision Enter and Level Loaded, and both fail in the build when the PlayMakerGlobals.asset is present in my project. They work when it isn't.

So it seems like the Globals file is somehow preventing the System Events from being complied into the iOS build.

Hello,

My current project has various items with triggers on and use 'Trigger Enter' as a global event. These work fine in the Unity editor but no longer work when I build the project to iOS. Because the main scene wasn't working I created a simple test scene within the same project and this also failed. I then built a test scene in a new project and it worked on build.

After three days of debugging I've found that the culprit is the PlaymakerGlobals.asset. When I remove it from my project the triggers work fine, but when it's there they don't. I've attached a picture of how I have the event set up as a global. I take it having it set up as an event that appears above the state rather than below automatically makes it a global event because the global check box next to it in the events list is greyed out. Also when I look at events included in the PlaymakerGlobals.asset file Trigger Enter doesn't appear.

Is this a bug? If not, can anyone help me fix it.

Well it turns out that what I described above is a bad way to work. It sort of worked when I did it but the settings didn't persist when I next launched Unity. I stored the object in a Global Variable and it works as expected.

Thanks Marv, I thought it might have had something to do with the state being on a prefab.

I did find a workaround but not sure it's a good way to work. I created an FSM on a new empty GameObject, added the required action and set it up as I needed, and then copied from there onto the state in the Prefab. When I copied it it remembered all the settings. I didn't have time last night but I'm going to check it tonight and make sure it's not causing any problems.

If I use the target picker next to the required field, it only lists prefabs and nothing else.

Hello,

I have a Send Event action set up that I want to send an event to an FSM on another GameObject but when I try and drag that GameObject into the appropriate slot it won't set it.

Is anyone else having this problem? Could it be something to do with using dual monitors? I'm using the latest versions of both Unity and Playmaker.

Can anyone help please?
