On the Photon horizon is the ability to create turn based games. I know Jean is brimming with work but ... Photon turn-based actions (once released)?!

Playmaker Help / Network time

Hi,

What I need is a universal time value from a server, this is so I can check the time passed since a previous time without relying on the device (which is changeable but the user) there are a bunch of servers like -

Just wondering if anyone else has tried to take this ... I assume the network actions will be needed.

Hi,

Have wondered about this for a while -
Is creating a gameobject variable and assigning the gameobject to it ... better than just dragging in the gameobject into a slot on an action (send event to gameobject) OR is it the same?

Hey!

Creating the actions for the prime31 Gamekit plugin -

Just thinking about the best way to get it to interact with Playmaker, basically you can send a method to a gameobject with a parameter to other devices over bluetooth (pretty cool) .... but how would playmaker deal with this message?! would I need to make a proxy script to catch the message and send it back to playmaker (sounds a bit haxor) any ideas?

Action Requests / Delay Play animation action

Hi,

I had a go at adding a delay to the play animation action but .. failed :(, Is it possible to get this as it would help offset animation within the actions rather than adding heaps of states with waits.

Playmaker Help / Turn-based game

Hi,

I've been researching how I might create a new mode for my current game, a turn-based head to head mode. What I need to be able to do is send a set of variables to a server or to the web. Some people suggest Photon can handle this but I cant see how without a lot of hacks. Easy2Save can save data to the web!

My question is, is Easy2save a good avenue to look into for saving data to the web and other players being able to access it. ie. Player one creates a game with player 2 and creates a file? database entry? with both Facebook IDs. When the players connect it will check the database for their IDs and match or something ......

Any ideas?

I realize Gamecenter has a turn-based system BUT Facebook friends is a better method to challenge friends.

I've had a hunt/dig on the forum but cant find anyone asking this question, Is it possible to have an array of audio clips, .... no Object variables available in the array maker drop down?

Share New Actions / Comment with Error

Hey,

So I'm getting towards the end of my game and found myself wanting to tag states to check or to do something later on so made an action "CommentWithError"

This gives you the ability to come back to that part of the FSM and fix,check, change, add etc something, just write in the comment what it is and you won't miss it. ie "Update these tags", "This doesn't work", "add a check for player completed level here"

I know the functionality of the action could be better ie the comment action edited so that if a bool is ticked it throws an error rather than a new action.

Thought I'd share :D

Playmaker Help / Photon - Room Custom Property in lobby

Would I use a custom property to make the room closed to new players but still visible?

Example - 2 players are in-a room with a max of 4 players but one decides to not wait for the room to be full and hits a play button. Playing will need to lock the room off as a 2 player game) but other people can see it exists but cant join.

Would Custom properties be a good use for this?

Feature Requests / Copy/Paste state naming

Hi,

Would be great to be able to change the name (in the prefs) of what is added to a pasted state, for example - if i copy my state "Character_01" and paste it I get something like "Character_01 - Copy 1" But would be so awesome if it could do what other apps (Maya for example) does. If there is a number at the end it would change it. If we paste "Character_01" we would end up with "Character_02"

Small thing but it sure does take up a lot of time when it adds up, just a thought.

I get this weird error after trying to make some facebook actions, the error remains even after deleting the actions and restarting :S

Playmaker Help / Photon - Play with friends[SOLVED]

Hi,

I have been thinking about this for a while now and figured Id put it out there to see if there are any other/different ideas out there.

Basically my current game needs to be able to create a room (yes I'm using Photon) and only friends can join and or see. What is a friend?! Options are Facebook friends (best option) GameCenter friends (second best option)

The photon side of things would be rather easish?! Create a room that has a unique name to the Master, this could be the users facebook http as an example (just encase there are more than one John Smith playing my game at the same time) From there each user would check the list of rooms with the list of their facebook friends http address (is that very practice?) provided I haven't found a means to get facebook friends info yet. Gamecenter is the back up plan.

Just thought id see if anyone else has tackled this issue/problem.

I have a gameobject that is getting turned off ..... somewhere and was looking into the debug option and wondered if there was a way to see what fsm/action is affecting a selected gameobject?

So I bought the Flurry Prime[31] plugin and have written some basic actions
(will release once I have fully tested them)
There is one aspect I'm not sure how to write -

The method -
public static void logEventWithParameters( string eventName, Dictionary<string,string> parameters, bool isTimed )

The 'Dictionary<string,string> parameters' part is what I'm not too sure how to write, any help would be greatly appreciated
