Thanks for the detailed explanation Jean. I still use both on a regular basis, it just depends on what is needed for any given task. They are both great tools.

Hi Graham, bit of a random question: could all of these games work using just Playmaker Arrays rather than ArrayMaker?

ArrayMaker offers advanced functionality that I don't think the built in arrays can match without some custom actions and tinkering.

If you are worried about performance, I can assure you that Arraymaker is on par with the built in solution.

It appears to only be an issue if the action was interrupted. I worked around this by letting it iterate through the entire array every time and just registering a bool and testing it after the comparison is done.

The "Array Get Next" action appears to have a very frustrating quirk. It doesn't appear to iterate through the whole array every time it is passed.

In the attached example scene you can see the issue very clearly. Pressing the left mouse button will compare arrayA to arrayB. For now arrayA has only the int value of "5" in it, while arrayB has int values from 0 though 9. It should find the 5 every time in arrayB, however it only finds it every second search. If you add a second value to arrayA, it will only fail every third try etc.

how is your canvas the same size as the playfield?
... trying to add some custom button functionality from easy touch isn't working because the easy touch canvas is different...

I don't have easy touch, so I can't say what's different. You can check the Canvas Scaler component on the canvas itself and compare.

Also, there is no harm in using a second canvas for the controls if need be.
