Playfab / Braincloud Actions / Alt Backend

Couple of quick questions...

Are there 'official' extensions for Playfab on the ecosystem or is the recommendation to buy the P-VUE asset from the store ? Curious since that asset unfortunately hasn't been updated since March.

I was looking at Playfab since it recommends Photon for multiplayer, which course Playmaker also suggests. Are there any other 'Backend as a Service' alternatives that work well with Playmaker ?

Wanted to add to this, as an alternative has anyone tried Braincloud and got this working with Playmaker ?

Using a P-VUE on my project and it works fine&easy. But i'm little nervous since there are no fresh updates...

Indeed. I've emailed the P-VUE dev to query but haven't heard back yet. I'll update here for reference when I do.

Out of curiosity are you using the older version of the Playfab SDK that is recommended or can you confirm P-VUE works with the latest SDK as is ?

Hi, may i ask which brain cloud asset? if you have a link...

No link unfortunately. It looks like you have to sign up on the brainCloud website to download anything, presumably that includes the Unity integration package as there isn't one on the asset store. I'll check it out properly later today and update.

As for Playmaker actions, well that was something I was hoping someone could advise me on.

I've heard back from the P-VUE asset dev who has confirmed that he will continue to update it. Which means it looks like Playfab will still be the easiest backend to integrate with Playmaker.

I'm not sure. I just setup everything a year ago by default and it works. So didn't touch anything to keep it safe

I think it's a great idea, brainCloud's pricing seems quite competitive at a glance. Besides, it's always nice to have options. We have P-VUE for Playfab but nothing for Gamesparks, brainCloud et al. Good luck with it, I for one will buy your asset on release if you add these actions in. What else is the asset for by the way ?

Actions for 3rd party assets that don't have actions and are not interested in making them or hiring someone to make the actions for them.

also for assets that are not on the asset store.

for example :

Midi Bridge
