Adventures Of The Beardsman 2.5d platformer
« on: April 07, 2014, 10:12:54 AM »
Hello everyone my name is mat, I have started a small game studio named The War Room Gaming. Our first project is a 2.5 platformer based on a super hero who uses his beard like the green lantern uses his ring. I plan on having 2-3 game modes. One consisting of a hilarious story line. (Adventure Mode) Another with the game play difficulty buffed up , no checkpoints and a timer. ( ManMode) Anyway here is a small video detailing some of the progress. Any input or suggestions would be much appreciated. I used playmaker to script every bit of it. The art is being outsourced to an awesome artist with great prices.
Currently having a tough time figuring out how to create a whip that the character can swing from. If you can help me with this please contact me at my email.

you can find more info and some concept art here:

looks like a good start. One that that bugged me was when the character turns it animates the scale  ... in my opinions that looks a little silly.

That is just a single sprite :) just using it as a place holder until i get time to work in the animations. just focusing on the core mechanics atm. But i do agree it looks a bit silly. Thanks for the input it is all very welcome. I am using smooth look at direction currently if there is a better way to flip the sprites i am open to suggestions.
