Many people have been asking about Unity 5 support, currently this package can only be used with Unity 4. I am currently working on a Unity 5 update, however I can't give an ETA since I am running into more issues than I had anticipated. A lot has changed in Unity 5, especially with the physics system. I will post as soon as it's ready!

Many people have been asking for this, so I have added a Sample Android APK (https://www.dropbox.com/s/9hlkwfuo5oyah93/3D%20Infinite%20Runner%20v1.1.2.apk?dl=0) to the description.
This version uses full resolution textures, it can be optimized much more if needed. The swipe sensitivity can also be easily adjusted. Let me know what you think.

Many people have expressed frustration when using continues, only to immediately die afterwards by hitting another obstacle. I have remedied this by adding a brief invincibility after using a continue. It acts just like the shield, but it's expiration is duration based instead of usage based.
I will be submitting this in an update along with a few other things soon. If you want to try it right away, contact me with your invoice number and I will be happy to send you a sample scene with the new fix.

The update is now live!
Set your invincibility timer and you'll have no more unnecessary deaths after reviving! Also includes a few bug fixes, you will no longer get stuck on junk obstacles in Unity 5.

I was asked me to make a version of this kit that would allow for defined level lengths. This allows levels that end at a given distance, and perhaps you can implement different themes for each level etc. I put it together, but it will not be in the official release for a while since it's still a little rough around the edges and not documented yet.
If anyone wants early access to this gameplay type, simply contact me with your invoice number and I'll gladly send you a sample.

Hi
I'm running through errors with this kit.
It shows "The referenced script on this behaviour is missing" 25 times. When I press on it, it shows CoinMagnet, InnerTween and many others.
It also shows many "Could not create action" errors. Will it be possible to share the error report or logs or anything like that? If yes, how do I do it?
I kind of thought that it is a complete template and just replacing the prefabs would do. Is it not?

If anyone runs into the same issue as Bhoopalan, please read the getting started section in the documentation. It is essential that you import the "IMPORT THIS After Playmaker" unitypackage after unpacking the kit and Playmaker.

Hi,
Why don't use include the preview version of PlayMaker? then your package works as is imported in a fresh empty project. You could make two versions on the asset store, one with PlayMaker preview, one raw for example.

Hi, I just bought your essentials pack and it is really great so far! I'm running into a little trouble with the 3d runner though.
When I create new curve materials, everything is working when I add my own textures to the existing materials. But If I create a new material and set the curve shader like it says to do in the guide, my objects are just randomly offside in the scene.
Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

If you are referring to the scene view, this is normal behavior. The scene view camera also dictates the vertex positioning of the shader. I usually set the shader to a standard unlit while I'm working on the scene, and then back to curved before I publish or play the game. If you still have problems, let me know.
If you are seeing this behavior in play mode, you may want to try the following:
In the TrackCurveManager "Curve World" FSM, expand the Translate state. In each of your additional "Set Material Vector2 Floats" actions, you simply have to place a checkmarks on each action's "Every Frame" to enable a constant update of the material curve.

Thanks to Mekan35 for pointing out this issue.
In the current version of the kit, using continue keys will result in the world curves not updating until actually pressing retry.
To remedy this go to the "Button_ForgiveKey" gameobject, in the "Resume" state of the Button Retry FSM add a "send event by name" action. As seen in the attached screenshot, point it to the "TrackCurveManager" gameobject / "Curve World" FSM / Send event "Go"

Important bug fix:
Since animator actions are now included with Playmaker by default, the actions included with this template will cause conflicts. If you are running into errors relating to the animator actions, you can easily fix this manually until I am able to include the changes in the next update.
You will have to manually delete the "Playmaker Animator" folder from the root Asset directory, and then re-import Playmaker.
If anyone is having trouble, don't hesitate to contact me.

IMPORTANT information regarding all 3D Sauce templates!
If anyone is running into FSM or build errors, there are a few simple steps to follow that will remedy these issues until I've had time to update the packages.
Simply open all affected scenes and re-save them individually. This should fix any issues you are experiencing after updating to the latest version of any 3D Sauce template and Playmaker.

IMPORTANT information regarding this template and Playmaker 1.9.0!
If you are using the latest version of Playmaker, there are a few extra steps that you will have to take to get the Runner kit working. Otherwise you will run into console errors.
Please follow these simple steps until I've had time to update the documentation.
1. Import the Unity package I attached to this post and replace the two errant scripts in your project. This will fix the following error.
"Assets/PlayMaker HOTween/Plugins/PlayMakerHOTweenUtils.cs(28,9): error CS0104: `LoopType' is an ambiguous reference between `Holoville.HOTween.LoopType' and `HutongGames.PlayMaker.LoopType'"
2. iTween is no longer included with Playmaker, so you'll have to install iTween from the Asset Store manually. Once you've done so, move on to the third step.
3. Go to the Playmaker / Welcome Screen menu in Unity. Press addons, and then press the import button beside "iTween Support."

Hi vv3,
1. I submitted an updated package to the Asset Store today that updates the template to Unity 2018. This update contains an assortment of bug fixes, including a solution to the choppy gameplay you are describing. In the meantime, you are able to fix this yourself with a few simple steps.
- Add the gameplay scene to your build settings.
- Playmaker / Tools / Update All FSMs in Build.
- Wait for it to complete and then save the scene.
- Restart Unity and the lag should be gone.
2. The state labels in your image can be disabled by selecting the "PlayMakerGUI" game object in your scene and toggling the "Draw Active State Label" off.
3. The controls can be customized in the "PlayerController" game object, you'll find the movement fsms in there. For example, select the "Middle Lane" state in "Left and Right Movement fsm. You'll notice a "Get Key Down" action for each button, you can simply change these to whatever key you wish.
Let me know how it goes!
I'll post here as soon as the updated package goes live on the asset store.

I don't have plans to add new features at this time, I'm focusing on fixing bugs and updating everything to be fully compatible with Unity 2018 right now.
My Breakout Pro template features online leaderboards however, which could totally be adapted to the runner game if you wanted.

Atm all work good right now and not laggy, but I cant say for how long yet becasue I die fast :) why ? Because I do not have left right changing lanes :)

It seems they are correct, yet pressing left right only change a bit the camera view but does not move the player.

It looks like your hotween actions are the culprit. They cannot be added to the project after running the Playmaker update fsm tools, they must be in the project beforehand. I would start over, it can get very finicky otherwise.
If you send me an email at 3dsauce(at)gmail(dot)com with your Unity purchase invoice number, I can send you a package of the latest update that should automatically fix all of this in Unity 2018.
