Sharing Project to People Without Playmaker
« on: July 20, 2022, 09:48:41 PM »
Hello there,

As the subject suggests I am looking for a way to share our playmaker unity project with our marketing team. A lot of the information I found was more than 6+ years old so I am curious if there is anything new / easier that I'm not aware of.

They do not have a Playmaker License and I'm looking for the best way to package up the project for them to run/view. We do have a repository set up as well which they have access to, but running the game without Playmaker of course results in errors.

What would be the easiest / best option for sharing a playmaker project with other teams.

Thanks,
Jay

Hi.
Probably the best way would be making a build.

If they don't need to access editor.

Hey, Having editor access would be ideal so they can record specific things a lot easier at whatever resolution.

This isn't rocket science. The license is clearly stated on the asset store page:

"One license required for each individual user."

Your project is being worked on by multiple 'seats'. This is exactly what the license addresses.

Maybe there was some confusion around my post, I was asking about the preview mode Playmaker comes with that allows people to use the project who do not have a license. That appears to be one of the ways to share a project.

I understand that it is an individual license, but there is a preview mode that allows sharing of the project to people who do not own or use playmaker. Allowing them to view FSM's and run them in playmode.

I'm curious about this too.

Even when I build the game and send it to friends for review, they can never open the game. It's something that's been a real bugbear for a while.

Hi.
a build should work, since it does not need unity/playmaker

Yes, it works fine on my own computer.

I think it's a Mac problem, which is what I'm using.

Ah, I haven't actually tried that. I'm always a bit nervous when it comes to build settings as i'm paranoid that I'm going to do something that'll break the game.

I'll give it a shot though.
