wasd isn't working properly

i have no idea why this isn't working i recently had to restart my project and I've run into a problem WASD doesn't work I've followed this tutorial before and its worked the first time and I've followed it exactly I'm up to the point where he first moves with WASD and all my values are still at zero. for some reason it  won't work, like it doesn't even read it i don't know if this is a bug or something I'm doing wrong but this is a little frustrating. if any one has answers id gratefully appreciate it.
