Got notification for this update, but I've been on version 1.7.8.3p2 for ages. Asked to be included in the beta, but heard nothing. I'm on the latest version of Unity. Imported PM into a brand new project, but still only get 1.7.
-
Im not a part of the beta, but it looks like this should do it for you http://hutonggames.com/playmakerforum/index.php?topic=12857.msg59972#msg59972 since it appears to be like the previous beta verisons.

Install the update from the Welcome Screen. It should open automatically when you import the package.

I can only assume I'm being very thick. I've tried importing Playmaker from the Asset Store into a fresh project. I've tried importing into a fresh project from the Unity splash screen. I can't import from the Playmaker welcome window, because there isn't that option - see pic. There appear to be no unitypackage files anywhere in the project directory or subdirectories.
-
What version of Unity are you using?
1.8.1 requires Unity 4.6 or higher.
Downloads for older versions of Unity won't get updated.
-
I'm using the latest version of Unity - 5.3.4f1
-
Did you update in the Asset Store before importing?
-
There is no option to update in the asset store, only import.
-
Hi,
The update was today, make sure this is what it says at the bottom of the playmaker asset panel:

This is what I have...
-
There is no option to update in the asset store, only import.
Go to the download manager (the arrow and basket icon in the asset store toolbar) find Playmaker and download it manually. Sometimes it seems the Asset Store gets stuck with an old version.
-
Download manager is showing the old version.
-
Well that looks like an Asset Store bug. Try logging out and back in.
Also find the location of the download on your local machine and delete it.
Not at my computer to check, but you can search the Unity forums for the location.
-
Where do I go from here then? I've logged out and in again to asset store. I keep working from fresh projects every time, so local downloads shouldn't be a factor.
-
The asset store downloads the package to your local machine. It seems to be stuck on an old version. If you delete that package it might force the asset store to refresh.
Others things to try:
Install Unity 5.3.5.
Email Asset Store support.

Okay, I found the PM package in the appdata folder and now in asset store I only have the option to re-purchase PM - no import or update button.
-
Hi,
You need to log in with the same Unity account as the one you purchase PlayMaker with.

Jean
-
hi,
also, I think you may have deleted the wrong file possible ( don't worry the trace of your purchase is safe on Unity system online, so no worries, I just think it may have confused the Unity editor a bit).
The local cached PlayMaker is outside the Appdata, it's in your User folder. Are you on mac or windows?
Bye,
Jean

Solved! Thanks for all your help. Somehow, I had two Unity accounts, and I needed to be logged into the one I purchase PM from. The mystery is how I was able to use PM at all from the other account. I don't remember creating a second account and I assumed, since I was using PM in this second account, this must be the one it recognised!
