Title: How to freeze/stop character
Post by: EverySingleSoldier on August 01, 2019, 04:07:21 PM
Is there a way to just cancel all physics / force vectors on a character and just make it stop ?

Ie just cancel all ‘Set velocity’ actions and just reset to character to be static ?

Does just setting the velocity to 0,0 with Set Velocity work?

OK so you can target stuff specifically with Set Velocity (directional movement) and Set Angular Velocity (rotation force). Maybe the angular one is on the Ecosystem, so you will just have to download it from there.

However another way to do it is to flip your object to Kinematic and then turn it off again. Kinematic means that the physics won't apply, so in effect that will cancel all physics already applying to the object and it will be all zeroed out when you turn Kinematic back off again.
For this you can use Set Is Kinematic

Hi.
@daniellogin

I never tried using Is Kinematic.
I will definitely try this as well.
Thanks for the tip.
