Post by: gamedivision on March 20, 2012, 07:17:50 PM
is it possible to fade gui text,so when the text is activated and shows on the screen i want it to stay on the screen for say 4 seconds then fade away.i also want the text to be in a box that also fades away, because its a point and click adventure, gona be alot of text i need to store in a string i suppose,so id need to create a text manager that handles all the text..

If you are going to be using a lot of text, you might want to look into this plugin on the asset store, it will give you a ton of flexibility for a text driven adventure game.

Custom actions can be written for playmaker to integrate with it most likely.

It creates text meshes that are super cheap performance wise, and allows to you to do some fun gradient things, along with creating interactive text selection type magic as well.  And wrapping text around objects etc.

there's a little video showcasing its features that's worth a look.
