Once one adds a gui depth action to a state and then changes the gui depth, the gui preview doesn't work anymore. Playing the game displays it quite well though, so one can easily work around that problem by adding the gui depth actions last.
(btw, thanks for your quick initative on the depth issue, I'm amazed how good and fast your user support is :) It's really appreciated ! )
