Title: Import issue

First post - I'm a Unity noob and purchased Playmaker to help me along. Click on import and it briefly flashes 'decompressing package' and then nothing! Haven't found any mention of this anywhere - anyone able to assist would be appreciated. Unity version: 2017.1.1f1 personal. Running on win10 64bit.

I've not had that problem before, though if I were you I'd re-download the Playmaker package and if that doesn't help re-install Unity.

Not sure how this would be any different to a normal import but you could also try going to "C:\Users\accountName\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Asset Store-5.x\Hutong Games LLC\Editor ExtensionsVisual Scripting" and importing it manually by running the Playmaker package from there (with your project already open and running).

Hi.
Do you have any errors in your console?
if so this might have interrupt the installer.

if the playmaker folder is in your project and paymaker is not in the menu bar

go to playmaker/Editor/Install

and there should be a "Playmaker.1.8.9 (or a different version)
Double click that to continue the installation

If the playmaker menu is there, you can click on it and select 'playmaker Editor'

I get the following error in the console: "Failed to import package with error: Couldn't decompress package".

Okay, so after a few hours, I have progressed slightly: It was initially possibly a 7z compatibility issue. I downloaded the current version of "7-Zip Extra: standalone console version, 7z DLL, Plugin for Far Manager". I renamed 7za.dll and 7za.exe to 7z.dll and 7z.exe and replaced both existing files in "C:\Program Files\Unity \Editor\Data\Tools" with the newer versions. Now it decompresses the package and when I click on Playmaker 1.8.9 in the folder it takes me back to the "import unity package' pop-up - only this time I can't select anything (I assume this means it's installed) and there is no Playmaker on the top menu bar. Any help/time is appreciated.

Where did you purchase/download playmaker?

maybe try updating unity
