Title: Edit FSM on Prefab without opening Prefab?
Post by: tw-Ian on September 23, 2019, 06:46:54 PM
Hey there! I just recently purchased Playmaker and have been starting to dig into it. I've been watching through the getting started with playmaker series on Hutong's youtube channel and it's been very helpful so far.

There's one thing I've noticed though that I can't figure out how to get on my end. When the teacher selects his prefabs with FSMs in the content browser, the Playmaker editor allows him to edit that FSM on the prefab level.

For me, I can only edit an FSM on a prefab level by opening the prefab in the scene view. This works, but it's definitely a lot less efficient when working on several prefabs at once, all with their own FSMs.

Is there a way I can get this to work?

Thanks so much.

Heya,

I don't think there is any way around it as this was a fairly new unity feature added not playmaker.  Its a bit of a pain for sure but currently its best to just always open the prefab to edit.

Hi.
Since unity 2018.3 there is a new prefab system. you can still edit prefabs when you drop them in the hierarchy and once you are done you can click on 'override' in the Inspector and click apply all.
Then it will be saved to the prefab.
