Title: Youtube Tutorial series uses Legacy Anim Set
Post by: Inferno Digital on October 08, 2019, 07:03:25 PM
Hello everyone, ID here! Wanted to share this and the Hutong Games channel rep told me to start a thread here so it's easier to reply and make a conversation about. I just purchased playMaker through HumbleBundle (been wanting to purchase it for a long time, but couldn't ever put aside enough for it, so the 15$ deal was a life saver) but when I went to the website, I started watching the tutorial series, and got the one about the treasure chest animation, and it left me stumped for a good while, because the animations refused to work without an animator, but if there was an animator, the animations didn't follow the FSM.

I figured out that this was because none of my animations were set up to support the legacy animation format. However, if I had not broken into the error codes and read really hard what was going on, I'd never have figured it out. Seems we may need an updated tutorial to show how to get animations working the old way on newer versions of unity (at least, until playMaker moves to the non-legacy animation system, if they do)

what do you guys think?

Hi.
Yes the 'Official tutorials are out-dated.

But you can find many tutorials on youtube.

Also if you have any tutorials that uses Ugui playmaker has the same actions now build in and you can find them by searching Ui instead of Ugui.

A good thing to know also is that you can find Many Actions/samples/packages on the Ecosystem (https://hutonggames.fogbugz.com/default.asp?W1181)

Also this wiki is interesting to have a look at :
