Title: Looking for players to try alpha version of game
Post by: daniellogin on December 16, 2019, 12:15:48 PM
Does anyone know a good way/place to find players for a 3D 'family board game?

What it is:
A turn based board game, where the player rolls for a move number (using a physics driven prize wheel), moves along the board, and gets in to mini games along the way.

Rules may change with different maps in the future, but the current map has the players try to end up with the most coins. A Player can cross the finish line first, but that simply provides bonus coins, so you never really know who will win until every player finishes.

How many players / multiplayer format:

The game can include up to 4 local players. Only a single game controller is shared, since no two players will need to do anything at the same time. It's not split screen, it's simply just the camera fixes on each player.

Target audience / distinguishing features:

This game was made for people of mixed ages (from very young to adult), and mixed gaming skill levels to all play together. And I don't mean Dad throwing the game because he can kick little Timmy's butt with his eyes closed (and so isn't actually having fun 'playing'), but legitimately everyone actually having fun and playing properly.

To this end, the game avoids direct competition between players. OK so obviously there is a winner at the end, but the mini games do not have player vs player, and so nothing (until the end) has one player winning at the expense of another.

In regard to skill, the game uses chance for the board game play, and each mini game is made to either use chance or to have a skill setting which can be selected. That way Mr Pro Gamer can crank the mini game up and really have a fun challenge, while little Timmy can play it on a difficulty which suits.

Controls:

The game is currently only supports a gamepad, and all of the button tips are in Xbox controller format. It should work with any other controller that Windows accepts. It cannot be played with Keyboard/Mouse.

What's included in the current version:

Currently the game has 1 map and 3 mini-games.
