Hello chaps,
I've been tinkering around with Playmakers networking actions and set up just a simple local area network test. It works, but not entirely. The major problem I seem to have is that the other players movements seem to look very choppy when viewed from my own instance of the game.
I've set network views on the fsm's, and also set them on the objects that move around. Is there a secret squirrel tactic to getting around this and making things a whole lot smoother?
Many thanks guys,
all the best.

How do you set up a network on the same machine? I haven't been able to network my Lan in years, any
tips?

By default your machines IP address is seen as 127.0.0.1, so all you need to do is run two instances of the game, one as the server, and one as the client (which just needs to connect to that very same IP).

You can set a "Run in Background" event. So you can play a network game in 2 windows at same time.
