So yeah, I made my first video game! Pretty, pretty, pretty cool.

This was made entirely with Playmaker and it's a first-person narrative game, where you're a private detective investigating a bizarre event inside a building.

Check out some gameplay on the steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1373380/Building_847/

I started using and learning Playmaker and Unity in June this year and shortly thereafter I started working on my first video game - Building 847.
I went through a bunch of tutorials, forums, google searches to make this and I think in the end it somewhat worked out alright.

I managed to make a dialogue system using Playmaker and Unity's UI which I'm pretty happy about, and I also tried making an Options menu but I failed miserably in that regard.

Anyway, thank you for your time and I also want to thank Playmaker devs for creating such an awesome tool.

Luis

This looks great, I'm a big fan of this type of smaller narrative driven game and the price point seems to be spot on. Will be giving this a try.

Congrats on finishing your first game.

Hi.
I would suggest to add some sound to the dialogues.

like some mumbling sound for example

Sorry for the late reply, sold my iMac and bought a new PC and this has been a blue hell, never seen so many BSOD but I think they are stabilized for now.

Yeah we actually tried doing that early during development - mumbling, making our own language (like sims, but that didn't make sense) and voicing only the first words of the dialogue.
But as we were about to launch we scrapped that idea as I wouldn't have had time to implement it correctly, but you just reminded me that I should put that in the next update, it would definitely be better :)

Why not some *trip trip bip bip* sound as the text's letters appear? It's better than nothing and doesn't sound SIMish.

Or try something like this (@1m34s):

That's an awesome idea, I'll relay that to my brother who's dealing with the sound, I bet he'll come up with something like that, that will fit the atmosphere of the game. Really cool man, thanks for sharing that!
