Title: Mixing/Blending audio...?[SOLVED]
Post by: Red on October 19, 2012, 07:45:48 PM
So, i've not delved very deeply into the sound effects actions aside from playing one-shot effects... and an idea for an app came into my head which i think would be really neat.

in it you can choose an audio source (in this case it's about binaural beats) and mix it with an overall musical track... I can see how it'd go on it's own but here's the rub: i'd like them to be in sync with eachother so that if the user queues up a "playlist" of the beats they can have it flow one into the other while remaining in sync with the music being played. Further ways that a system like this could be used would be for layering audio tracks on top of one another and playing a higher-intensity song while action is playing in the game and fading into the smoother, more laid back track while the action has subsided (i've seen this done in some AAA games so i know that this is possible... but, not sure if it's possible with Playmaker.) but not being out of sync, being a smooth transition (DJs will understand what i'm trying to get at hopefully.)

So, has anyone here ever done something like this using Playmaker?

Just posting here to mention that i think i've figured out how to do this.

Basically, it's two audio sources on the same object (or camera or whatever is on the listener.) and you can adjust them so that track one can have more volume than track two. Sorry if this is a basic thing, should have known this earlier but my newbie mistake can be a learning opportunity.

so, yeah... this isn't an issue anymore now
