How do u set a whole Scense as a very dark level, and then use an Object as a lantern so to speak, to see in the darkness?, I dont have Unity Pro.
-
For the dark level you need to set the Ambient Lighting which can be found at Edit > Render Settings and then you need to change the colour of your cameras background.
For the lantern try using a Point Light.
This should get you started.

Thank You very much

I'm making a 2D game and my scene all take place on a 90 degree angle, with a top view like the snes Zelda games, so would there be a diffrent way about doing this? I tried setting the lighting and I'm having no luck at all.

Are you making a flat 2D game using something like the 2D Toolkit plugin or are you doing a 3d game locked to 2 axis?
Have you added a light yet and is it having any effect at all on your scene? Also is this a mobile or console/PC game? Lights may behave in different ways depending on the platform you choose and shaders that you are using for your materials.
This question may well be better placed on the Unity forum.

Yes I am using the 2D ToolKit Plugin.
I have tried Lights and they r having no effects what so ever on my scenes.
This game is being made for the PC as of right now.

I got the light to show up but even if I rotate it to a 90 dagree angle, it wont show up it just goes through my level

So if you place a standard 3d object like a cube into the scene, is it be affected by the light? If so, then it probably has something to do with the way 2D Toolkit works. Unfortunately, I have no experience with it.
