Title: HELP -IOS camera look with finger movement
Post by: BlueSquirrel on March 03, 2013, 02:08:43 AM
Does anyone know the simplest way to get a camera to move in first person view on IOS device with finger movement without the need for buttons. I tried to use the standard FPS controller provided, but it seems to reorientate itself around each touch point if finger is lifted then reapplied. Looks horrible indeed!! I don't need to really move around the scene, I just need to orbit the camera around as if standing in one spot with a 360 view. Hope this helps to explain situation.
Cheers

I'm no expert but I would suggest start by creating a cube where ever you touch on the screen.. and then have the camera point to the cube...

There is a tutorial here that teaches you about finger touch on iOS devices

note: I followed along with several of these Youtube videos that help you understand PlayMaker  "touch events"  et...  I managed to get a character to walk to different points wherever I touched..   I'm fairly certain these videos will get you to where you want  :)

Thanks Mickman. I'll give it a go.
