Title: Problems building with Unity Free Version
Post by: Alex Chouls on September 04, 2013, 10:10:24 PM
Playmaker ships with Photon Networking. Photon currently requires Unity Pro for iOS and Android. If you have the free version of Unity please delete the Photon Unity Networking folder.

Warnings shouldn't stop the build... Obsolete warnings generally let you know that a function might be removed from Unity down the line, but it should still work for now.

Are there any errors in the log?
Have you successfully built another project for android? E.g., is the sdk etc. setup properly?

Do you have Android Pro (as well as the base Unity Pro)?

ExitGames (makers of Photon) recently developed a workaround to run on iOS/Android Basic, but it's not integrated in PlayMaker yet. It should be in the next update...

Actually I spoke too soon. There's a new Photon product that supports iOS/Android Basic but it's not part of the the free Photon package. The new product is Photon+ on the asset store.

Unfortunately you get the free version of Photon with Playmaker, so it still won't support iOS/Android Basic versions. However Photon+ is cheaper than Android Pro... :-\

I'm double checking with Jean if the Playmaker integration will work with Photon+, so stay tuned for more info...

Hi,

There is not a photon "net" package to buy from the asset store, can you precise what you purchased actually? then we'll take it from there.

bye,

 Jean

Hi.
I bought  Photon Networking Guide first, then Photon PUN +.

But I really don´t know what improvements I got from them to publish
to Android tablets or mobile devices., cause by the moment I don´t care about make mmoo games or networking, just stands alone. And seems them focused on it.

Thanks for you help, very appreciated.

Hi,

Photon + is exactly the same as Photon PUN, only you don't need Unity Mobile PRO to run it, that's all there is to it.

bye,

 Jean

I don't know what free version you're using currently if it's a Unity Free Version you will need to update the scene/assets/building files. You should backup your project and give it a go, you can always uninstall and install the old version instead and revert(copy the backup) to replace any issues.
