Title: Educational Discount
Post by: brendancavalier on December 04, 2013, 01:06:20 AM
Hi All,
I'm a teacher at a High School in San Diego, and I'm teaching my stuents how to program AR apps using Vuforia in Unity, and I really would also like to use Playmaker with my students.
I got 2 issues:
1.  Unfortunately the school I work at provides us with .org and I can't seem to get the educational discount to work from the hutongames.com website and haven't gotten any response from the info@hutonggames.com email address.
Not sure where to go at this point, I've tried contacting a couple times via the regular site, I realize the forums aren't the ideal place to resort, but like I said, not sure where else to go.

2.  I'm also wondering what to do if the schools internet doesn't allow an easy connection to the asset store?  Is there a way to download a freestanding package like vuforia?  The school has a proxy server setup, and our IT dept. is very restrictive.

Thanks all
Brendan Cavalier

Hi,

1: I'll get in touch with Alex to check on your query status.

2: Simply download it on a computer that is not on your restricted network, and then get it in the cache ( all assets are cached when downloaded from the asset store).

Bye,

Sorry you didn't get a response from info@hutonggames, we have a bit of a backlog we're working through! I'll look for your mail.

We should be able to add your organization to the educational list. When you buy from our online store you get a download link to the unitypackage, so you can transfer that to classroom machines...
