Title: Fade in/fade out/draw fullscreen color

So I've read up on how to fade in on a screen, goto a full screen of black, change scenes, then fade back out.  However, I am missing something. 

When I draw fullscreen color after the fade, how do I get it to go away?  So I change scenes and now it's still fullscreen black.  When I fade, the black is still there.  I know this is a easy one like all of my questions.  Thanks
