Title: Playmaker 1.8 Relese Date
Post by: C.J.Geringer on October 02, 2014, 04:36:47 PM
Is there an expected release date for the next version of playmaker? or just "coming soon"?

I looked for it and did not find it anywhere.

Can't wait! I'm really looking forward to it especially if we can create our own pooling solutions with Arraymaker

Hi

ArrayMaker does work as is already for a pooling system, what do you expect from 1.8 to change in that regards?

1.8 will have a new variable type "FsmArray", so essentially you will not need ArrayMaker anymore for listing things.

 Bye,

 Jean

I saw this thread and thought new functionality was added in 1.8 for pooling

But if the tools are already in there I should get started on creating a pooling system now- thanks!

Jean,

Will it be much of a process porting things from 1.7 Arraymaker to the new FsmArray system?

Also, is the functionality pretty much the same?

Mark

Hi,

it's a totally different system, and ArrayMaker will propose actions to move data between the two system at runtime, but during editing, you shoudl either stick with ArrayMaker or move to the new system, which obviously is the preffered option now.

bear in mind that ArrayMaker do hashtables, and that's something that FsmArray on 1.8 is not providing, so ArrayMaker will still be necessary in many cases.

Bye,

 Jean
