Title: Cheetah3D vs Blender
Post by: mixedup on October 06, 2014, 07:40:23 PM
I'm after a 3D modelling/animation tool for Mac to do some basic animation in 3D.  I willing to spend a little bit (say upto ~$200) to get an easy to use tool, and I've heard blender can be somewhat non-intuitive...

Question: Are there any negatives to choosing Cheetah3D over Blender?  (just on the assumption it's more user friendly to get started with)

Any other feedback on choice of tool welcome..

It's hard to form an educated opinion on Cheetah3D because I don't think they let you modify the geometry on a Cube or any other object in the demo version. Theirs always giving blender a spin given the fact that it's freeware.

I can't speak to Cheetah 3D, never used it. But I will say that when I'm at work using 3DS Max for modeling, I often wish that I was using Blender instead.
