Title: Game texture tutorials with gimp.
Post by: coffeeANDsoda on February 10, 2015, 06:16:06 PM
Are there any youtube video tutorials covering game texture creation for gimp that any experienced user can recommend to me? I'd like to create textures that look similar to a myst game, and rusty textures, but when I use filter options for noise, I don't get the right amount of detail like in those type of games.

Recommendations? Thanks.

well If you only rely using filter, any software just would not do....most of the those texture are probably using filter as a base, but there is always a manual painting involved...

As in custom brushes on a default canvas layer being needed? Asphalt is doable in a problem like mypaint or coral basic, but can't figure out how to make brushes that work like those pre made brushes in GIMP. That's why I made thread about this issue.
