Share New Actions / TransformMoveProjectile
« on: April 03, 2018, 01:11:01 PM »
In the Playmaker's Slack-channel question was made how to move projectile in an arc without using physics.

I found a great post from the Unity's forum by Stephan-B. So this action is almost the same, only with some slight modifications.

  • You set the start position for the projectile.
  • Set destination for the projectile
  • Give angle for movement
  • Set gravity; bigger gravity -> more speed
  • Set the actual projectile that will be moved
  • Set event to send when movement is ready (optional)
  • Give variable to store the distance travelled (optional)

Waiting to be merged to Ecosystem's repository.

Share New Actions / Enum Changed
« on: April 03, 2018, 09:31:02 AM »
I created new action that will look if enum is changed.
You can also select certain enum's value that you are wanting to take action only.

Example use case: Waiting for your game's state to be changed from Pause --> Playing.

I used existing "Bool Changed" as an example how to do this for Enum.

Available also in the Ecosystem.

PlayMaker Tutorials / Tutorial for: Sharing custom actions?
« on: March 22, 2018, 01:28:48 AM »
Could there be a simple tutorial which tells how to use Github for sharing the custom actions? It might lower the barrier to get more contributions when there are clear and simple instructions for doing so.
  • Forking the repository, making changes and creating pull request. *
  • Is the action needed to be tested with multiple versions of Unity or just the latest, stable release? **
  • Do we only make the new action to the newest repository? ***
  • Needed Playmaker things in the created actions. Comments, namespace, required methods to be overridden
  • Any other thing to reconsider?

I can also write this tutorial and it to have pictures, but would like to get these answers so I can write it.

* = I have tested this about a year ago and it was a great way to do without the need to get permission to actual repository. Playmaker's creators/repository "admins" can only accept pull requests that they seem to be in a correct format and fills the needed standards.
** = 2017.3.1 at the time of writing
*** = At the moment of writing latest seems to be PlayMakerCustomActions_U2017
