PlayMaker Tutorials / New Playmaker Video Tutorial Series!

I've created a new video tutorial series, "Game Design with Playmaker and Unity"!

- 13 videos offer over 4 hours of many "bread-and-butter" game techniques using the Playmaker plug-in for Unity3D
- Covers many of the new features in Playmaker 1.2, including global variables, events, and more!
- All videos available in 1280x720, in mov format

I'm seeing some strange issues with the GUI.  For instance, I'll have an FSM that has two buttons that "toggle" between on and off, and everything in it works fine.  Then I'll make another FSM with a second button system, and then the first button set will start triggering the second one instead of triggering itself!  And on occasion, an FSM/button will stop functioning altogether. 

I'm not sure if I'm generating this by how I'm using the GUI nodes, or if this is a bug somewhere in the system.  I have saved out the project to send to you if you want to dig through it.  FWIW, I think copy/pasting an FSM might have instigated this behavior, and now it's perpetuating itself somehow, but I can't repro that right now.

PlayMaker Help / Gui Depth and the FSM order in the Inspector

Ok, I've made an observation and I have to ask if I'm seeing random stuff, or if this really is the way things work.

First off, I'm trying to use GUI Depth to move things forward/backward in the GUI... and it seems to have no effect!  While fiddling with this I realized that if I have an FSM at the bottom of the list in the inspector it will draw in back of everything else!  This means that the GUI elements I use in the last (latest) FSM I have created will draw in back.  I've deleted, remade, etc a few times and this seems to hold true.  Am I really seeing something as it was intended to work, or is this a fluke?  If this is the case, is there a way to change the order of this stack without deleting/re-creating? 

And of course, if I figure out what's going on with GUI Depth and how it works, this might become a moot question, but so far it's the thing that's allowed me to get the right sort depth!

PlayMaker Bug Reporting / Audio Play Hangs

Not sure if this is a playmaker bug, or if it's intended action based on something I don't understand about how audio works in Unity.  Either way, it's totally not what I'd expect or want...

... I'm using "Audio Play" and "Audio Stop" to start and stop the playback of an audio source.  The audio source has "loop"/true, "Play on awake"/false. The Audio Play action will start the loop, but it never finishes if loop/true, and the FSM hangs in that state.  This happens even if I have a "Finished" event specified in the Audio Play action.

I can call an event from another FSM to break out of that state, but doing this and using the Audio Stop action will not stop the audio playback.

I'm seeing this in the latest retail release of Playmaker, and Unity 3.4.1 on OS 10.7.2.

Action Requests / TextAsset loaded from Resource folder

Has anyone done anything with this?  I would love to see action(s) to load a .txt file from the Resources folder, and also to read through lines, save as string, etc.  I poked at it a bit but was getting some errors using TextAsset, and haven't gotten back to it.

PlayMaker Help / Set FSM Int Add?

I've run into a situation where I want to "add" to an int var on another FSM, but the only function is to set it.  However, there is an "add int" for local vars.  Any way to do this that I just haven't found, or would this require a new node?

FWIW, I am counting an active number of objects in a spawn manager FSM and want to lower that number when an object is destroyed.
