General Discussion / Game Name Help Needed

Hi, I’m creating a game where you rent out houses (idle clicker style), and could use some help coming up with a name.

The space gets rented, tenants leave early, don’t pay rent, get evicted, the place gets re-listed, re-rented and that’s the loop.

I’ve tried creating lists of names to generate some inspiration etc.. but nothing sounds catchy or cool any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hope everyone is doing well!

The video below shows what Im trying to create, I believe I'll be able to create the chat system (it's only one player who can select which user is texting).

Anyone have any idea how to output the results as a video?

Also my initial thought is to use player prefs and play all of the messages back with the message positions and send button clicks.

PlayMaker Help / Jump (fall down speed) [Solved]

I have a 2d sprite when I click the left mouse button it jumps. Im trying to get it to have a faster fall down (return to ground) speed than the default.

So far I've figured out:
1) jump
2) how to know when it gets to its max height (float compare) it will go to "State 1" in the attached image.
3) I NEED YOUR HELP and I've pasted code below that should make this possible (Im having difficulty converting it into usable playmaker states, though Im open to other solutions as well)

I've updated to the latest version of playmaker. In the playmaker editor I can no longer copy and paste actions into states. Nothing gets pasted but I did notice an orange box appear around the action browser when trying to paste if that helps?)

Im playing around with the playmaker tweens and it seems as though the local tween in the action Tween Position doesn't seem to be moving locally.

For example if I have a empty game object that tweens to a position of z 15, then have a child object (cube) that tweens locally in the Y to a position of 5.

You would expect the cube to move diagonal but this is ant the case (the cube will move up in the Y where it is instead of locally to also move with its parent in the z.

I do however love the colored arrows (very nice feature!).

Hello Makers,

In the action Convert Float To String there is a Format field and the Tooltip says: "Optional Format, allows for reading zeros E.g.,0000"

Is there somewhere I can find a list of formatting options to use in this field?

PlayMaker Help / Timer and tween (synchronize) [Solved]

Im trying out the playmaker tweens and its nice (can't wait to see more!).

What Im trying to achieve is every 5 seconds Id like to have my timer (text) to scale up then back to normal but the tweens I have are 0.5 seconds each, which offsets the timer anyone know how I would synchronize this to match the timers 5 second increments?

Timer States:
Start State: Float Subtract, Seconds ToString, Set Text, Wait (5 seconds).
Next state: Tween Scale (0.5 seconds to scale up)
Next state: Tween Scale (0.5 seconds to scale back to normal size)

I'm not the greatest at math and have tried so many different approaches (float switches, int switches, etc..)

Is it possible to change my username on the forums here? or would I ned to create a new account?

I'll be saying goodbye to KodaGames and want to create a new username (it would be nice to keep this account but if its not possible that's ok too ;))

PlayMaker Help / Array List Contains Count [Solved]

Array List Contains Count if used lets me know how many of those variables are in my list.

How do I iterate through the list of strings and get the index that those variables are at?

Everything I try seems to return only the first index (which is 0) each time. It seems like Index Of never goes past 0.

I've included an image below to help better illustrate.

I have a the main list, and have a temp list the temp list would be sorted alphabetically.
Main list      Temp list
Bats            Bstu
Stub            Bstu
Buts            Bstu

If I search the temp list for bstu I would get all the words bstu could make but I’d need to sort every line of the main list, break it apart, sort it, out it back together in another list to compare against.

I thought of using a Hash Table but the keys cannot be the same BSTU.
