PlayMaker Help / Setting a texture (across FSMs)

Hello all; I'm currently trying to work on an RPG like game using playmaker. I'm currently starting to build the beginning of a target system so that I can then begin the combat system. The problem is that I can't seem to set a texture using a variable. The goal is that when a monster is selected that this will feed information into the targeting system to be displayed.

It doesn't even work when it uses the owner as the set texture but I really need it to be set from different MSMS so that I can separate the target from the targeting manager. What I'd like it to do is a display this texture of the targets head every time the target is selected and the same for if a different target is selected.

General Discussion / Anyone use any animation/camera tools?

Has anyone used any animation/camera cut scene camera tools like ORNavigation or Apeture Cutscene Editor? Anyone know if they work with playMaker or work at all?

Hey! I'm working on my RPG game. Basically I'm trying to work on my battle system. In one scene, I have a simple town(Terran) with a platform. I want the platform to TP the main char to the battle field where I can freeze the movement of the character for turned based battle.

I already have a platform set up with an invisible box trigger while using the "Cut to Camrea" With a second camera I have set up facing the new map. How do I now pause my controllers movement and teleport the character over there?

So I bought a char that comes with a whole bunch of animations. I understand some playmaker basics so my char is 'working' as in it has a char controller and a move variable set up. I'm actually walking but I'd like my char to walk when I press forward and idle when they don't. To jump on space bar, etc. I have a whole bunch of these animations just looking to get

So I'm trying to create a bit of an online RPG type deal. Say I want to make disturbing items, abilities etc how would I store that using playMaker? I'm scared that if I need to make 1,000s of items, stats and abilities that simple variables won't be enough or will get way over cluttered. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions...don't mean to be a pain in the ass! Right now, I'm trying to use events and variables to create a workable inventory system. I'v searched other threads but haven't seem to get any answers from other here we go...

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding variable differences. I understand Int is a number, String is text and gameobject effects the gameobject but WHEN to use them or events is always confusing and feels like guess work. Is there any person who can do a one or two sentence explanation of what each variable (or global events) is best utilized being used for?

So I'm currently trying to build an inventory. I have a texture for an item and a texture for the actual inventory viewer graphic. The problem is I'm having trouble letting the card texture show ABOVE the inventory graphic. I'v tried adding "Gui Depth" but nothing seems to effect it. Any suggestions anyone? ><

Hello playMaker forum ^_^ I am currently working on a cross hybrid rpg/card game. I'm really looking for anyone who even wants to talk hypothetical's or who can shoot ideas. I'v already created a rudimentary hp, mana, system and have created two workable cards. (Fireball and Heal).

With those small hurtles tackled I'm trying to work my brain around the notion of inventory creation (So they can build the cards they want.) As well as a way to shuffle the cards and draw five of them every turn. Then each new turn, a new card is drawn. Anyone out there that could help?

I posted this in the help forum but didn't seem to get a reply! My only worry in buying playMaker is because it said it can make 'prototype' game systems. Does this mean not fully functional battle systems? I'm hoping to make a roleplaying/tradeing card game and want to know my 100$ will allow me to help build such a system needed.

I'm interested in buying the playMaker asset for unity and had but one simple question ^^ I'm forming a small team to create a roleplaying game where the combat is a card game of sorts. Is this possible within playmaker?
