i had something similar happen today, was very strange. Playmaker 1.8.4 Unity 5.6.2f1

One of my global variables just poof, disappeared. Stopped showing up in the global variables list but was still showing inside some actions which disappeared when selected.

Ended up creating a new global with the same name and manually reconnecting.

Sorry- no steps to reproduce, caught me completely off guard. Its a little worrying now whether can trust playmaker wont just spontaneously break the project ...

That's a shame, but understandable. At least thank you for having shared your knowledge and experiments!

From your posts and yt videos- I gather that analyzing your FSMs must be like a playmaker masterclass, those who get the chance to learn from you should count themselves lucky!

Similar to color coding states in the playmaker editor, it would be convenient if there was also a way to set FSM icon colors in the Hierarchy or Inspector.

For all I know, the way Unity works might make it impossible- but I believe it could improve the user experience of categorizing and make it easier to understand/remember at a glance what FSMs are doing.

Here's an image that shows the general idea:

Sorry about that- should have tested in depth.

It updated correctly for multiple actions in the same FSM but after checking again, not in other FSMs. So no, it doesn't work :/

+1 for hoping global variable renaming is on the feature list

I just noticed- its possible to rename global variables similar to how renaming global events is currently handled--

Right click on the global variable and Make Local Variable, rename it, right click to set back to global
