maybe I've missed something, but how do you create a random Vector3 by putting a random Float in it? Say you want to position a gameobject somewhere inside a sphere...

If you know the x.y.z on that sphere you can take those  values and use random float from them and use those x.y.z on the gameobject.

Android Help / Re: Running really badly.

I was giving a bash at porting moonman to my phone, HTC EVO 3D, not that bad a phone.
but it runs really badly and i can only really think of it being too many fsm's over the graphics.
can anyone tell me where to start with making this run better? with 3d i would probably drop the polygons and draw distance ect, but this is only sprites, grrrr.

There is a lot of things that can slow down a phone.
Most of the time its graphic. Reduce them as much you can. Also look at the shaders you are using.
Also if you use particle effects you can reduce them.
Sounds is also a area you need to look at.
If you use scripts, beside playmaker you should look at them to, so they do not use the cpu/gpu to much.
Also look at the FSM so there is not anyone that is looping a lot. they can slow down the phone very fast.

Beside that its hard to tell what to look at.

Why not use a random float and put that in vector 2 or 3?

I already did the click and drag to move the chicks, now im doing the hunger and feeding system. But i have extremely difficult to understand the unity's GUI system. I understand the elements, layout, I know how to position things, know about GUI skins etc. but I don't know how to make the raycast work with the GUI layer and or GUI elements to not click the terrain below for example. The GUI system seems a bit complicated, a lot of work to make simple things. How can I make it understand what's GUI and what's not. it seems that everything passes through it.

I'm typing on phone, my english is not very good sorry if you find a lot of errors here.

Sounds fun.
Well the GUI is 2D( sort of) and you use different stuff for that.
Playmaker GUI stuff is way better then unity. It is more easy to make things work.
Try it on a mobile phone and you will see that :-)

Yes and no.

If you just want to move him about with vectors, that can be done with playmaker.
but controlling a player with playmaker via the char motor cant be done (without the actions)

The actions that come with playmaker include controller move and controller simple move
you could use these to set up a basic controller but these actions dont act according to your char motor settings.

The thing about playmaker is anything is achievable. just spend some time with it!

Sure you can, but it will take some work for you.
You can send stuff to any script that you use, but to make a complete character system only with Playmaker will take time and right now I do not see the benifit to spend that time.

But I use a normal script for this and use playmaker for all most all other stuff, like AI, meny, score etc.

In the end you decide how much you want to use it and how much work you will spend to make stuff work.
I know it will save a lot of time with playmaker and there is also alot of other plugins that has playmaker support.
The best source for information and help with playmaker is here.  ;)

Hello Guys, I'm new to Unity and Playmaker so sorry if I sound like a real newb here, I'm wondering if anyone would give me a few tips on adding 2d player controls to a cube using only Playmaker if it's possible? I know how to add player controls using Unity but I really want to learn how to do it using Playmaker only.
Thanks in advance  ;)

Its not that hard. you only need to add/remove value on the characters X position.
If you read around this forum you can find much help about that to :-)

Okay fair enough. I agree with you in some ways.
I've seen so many speed up your phone apps that don't work i generally all put them under the same category as fake.

But still, whats the kick the mongo game all about?

I know about that. 95% of all tweaks people use on there phone do not work. lol.
But in that app I have around 50 tweaks that do work, but I kind of a expert on that. lol
most tweak do not make much different, but together they make a different.
That app is well tested and most tweak I use in my kernels to.

Kick the mongo is a game I did with my girlfriend(ex).
Most of the name and text she did. I just made the game, music and graphics.
Its kind of a puzzle game. You must remove the right block so the bad block will fall of the platform.
In between the scenes you get some funny text.
It was my first game I made and its kind of old now and I did not know much about game programming back then. But I have learned so much since then and I use playmaker and other stuff now.
I working on a new platform game now, but I start to learn about making 3D stuff.
Its to hard to find people that can help out and I jsut got tired of all people that promise to help out.
I lost much money and time on them. So I will make all things myself now( until I find a person that will work like I do).

I had a look at some of your apps, gingerbread tweak imparticular, I dont belive that its legitimate, are you making apps just for money? I also think the poker app is overpriced but thats just me.

Apologies fore being harsh, please prove me wrong if i am.

Gingerbread tweak is kind of old, but it do work as it was made. Why do you think its not legitimate?
Every app I make do work as they intended, but some people do not read before they download them, but that is a big problem for all app maker...
Sure I want to get payed for the app I make. I never have any advertisement in them. I also got some app for free...
I have 5 poker app and this one is all of them in one app.
Sure it can seams like its over priced, but I have spent alot of time with it and the things written in the app is a lot.
Compare it with a book you buy. You will have to pay a lot more then.
Also most poker player do not mind to pay what it cost.
They will earn that back very fast.
I only do apps like a hobby right now. I did decide very early that I would not use any advertisement stuff in my apps, but they would cost. most app do cost €1-3.
I myself has spend a couple of €100 on apps. Most of the time app you pay for is way better then the free ones. Also if there is a free one and a payed one I use to buy it, if its good.
But the trend is that the apps is free to download, but you need to pay for them to use them. I do not like that, but I might do that soon to. Just for people tend to download free stuff more and when they use them they have less problem to pay way more for the stuff in the apps. its kind of weird..

I have done all part of this with Playmaker. Only the particle effect is not from Playmaker.

Want to learn more about poker? Then Damian Poker Guide is for you!

I've written a lot about poker and done some poker guides. In Damian Poker Guide app I have collected all at one place. You can still buy all the other parts in the Google play store if you only want one of them. I've played poker most of my life and I still think its very fun to play poker. I like to try different strategies and see how they work. So everything in this guide, I have tested thoroughly and the strategies work for me. After you've read through everything, you will also create your own style of playing poker.
There is no book in the world that can replace your experience and show you exactly how you should play, but they can help you out and make you a better player. Poker is a game of skill, but there is some luck in it too. Your experience and skills will increase and so the luck moment in poker will be far less, your skill will take over. This means that you will win in the long run when you are playing with skill and not just rely on you luck. It is this that separates you from the bad poker players .
In Damian Poker Guide you will get all this parts:
- Texas holdém poker basic
- Texas holdém poker advanced
- Texas holdém micro stakes poker
- Texas holdém Rush/Zoom poker
- Texas holdém starting hands
- Texas holdém Outs
- Texas holdém poker lingo

Please send any questions you have or any suggestions to me.

Proposal, could would single quote english vocavulary? like for example

 Avancer par 'Frame'

this then become more obvious that a technical term is mentionned. For Capitalized word like FSM I don't think it's useful tho.

Most word I seen has the first letter capitalized.
But I do agree with you the 'Frame' or "Frame" is a good way to show it more clear.
I think I will redo some translation and start with this, instead of trying to translate some stuff.
But I still think a dictionary is useful.

my 2 cents:

IMO everything that could be written in English (international), should be. If I talk in one of my native languages to collegues I always use the English terms, no matter what.
The reason why is that while there are people who'd like to kick back and just use a program in their native language, noone would ever want to find himself with a problem and then not be able to get help because noone on the international forums would know what his weird back-to-english-translations mean.
Not to mention all the other unity resources which are in english... And potential international colaborations would also be hard to realise for those individuals who'd use the translated versions... and let's face it, every programmer, game artist and for that matter FSM maker will work internationally at one point or the other.
So all in all translating most nouns (other than those in the Tooltips) would probably only hurt the users in the long run.

That being said, I like the idea of the dictionary, it's a nice gradient introduction into the world of English :D

I do agree with you. I always use English software and write/read on English. So to translate to Swedish I just do for fun and maybe we will see stuff we never did think of before. I think this is one of the strength we have here, that all want to make Playmaker better for all.
But I know some people do like it on there native language and this can be a problem with some words that they do use, but its not the English word.
This was why I start this tread also. To make the translation as good we can and also to do it the same way.
