PlayMaker Help / Re: UFPS Set Weapon by name
« on: April 03, 2015, 10:24:10 AM »
Hey.  If you hit Backspace the weapon will "clear" or be put away.  So this in effect is un-equpping it.  Look at your UFPS Input Manager.  You can change this to any input.  Then if you Hit Q, you will equip the previous weapon which is the one you just put away.

Thanks.  I told him that he should make a ton more levels, but until then I'm going to work on other game ideas.

The game of spatial reasoning using Sliding Blocks.

My 10 year old son developed this game and created many of the levels.  We used Playmaker for roughly 95% of the game.  All the game play is Playmaker.  I had to write a few C# scripts, but they were very basic scripts.  I did most of the Playmaker work, but he actually learned alot in the process.  We also used ProBuilder for all of the levels (yes, all those blocks are actually in 3d).  Everything is using an orthographic camera, so it's actually 3d, not 2d.

PlayMaker Help / Re: A simple collision

Not 100% sure, but you probably want a Collision Detection FSM that only checks for collision and if it is true, you set a public bool to true.  Then your FSM go up/down could check that bool every frame to test if true or not.  If true, you would change direction.

General Discussion / Easy Touch

Please go to the below link for trello to vote for Easy Touch integration.  We already have a nice Input.Touches add-on, but I don't use Input.Touches.  I have Easy Touch and I really like it.

Also, it would be good to have the Unity Networking removed from the automatic install as you can't build to Android with it in your project (just delete the folder).

I have no preference actually.  I just want to get the movement to work.  I don't care what method.  I actually have no clue what method is best.  End result is that I want to move a block (each block can go either horizontal OR vertical, but not both) which does not go through walls or other blocks.  Then move a block to the goal.

The image is what I'm trying to do, but I can't figure out the best way to do it.

The object (cube) bounces all around when it hits the wall.

I'm having a really hard time figuring out how to get my object(s) to move via touch drag or swipe without moving through other objects.  I want to drag an object towards a wall, but even if I hit the wall and drag further, the object stops at the wall (and doesn't bounce back).  Also, if I hit other objects or other moveable objects, the dragged object stops.  I've tried adding force and collisions, but the object hits the opposing obstacle and either bounces back or skirts up/down/alongside the object.  Also if it hits a moveable object, either both objects move or it bounces back.

This is the key mechanic of the game I'm trying to help my 10 year old make, but I can't get it working.

Maybe I deleted too much, but this doesn't work for me on an Android tablet.

iOS Help / Re: How to touch and drag a 3d object?[SOLVED]

I tried out the sample you created for moving the object.  The moveable/dragable cube goes straight through the other cube.  No collision whatsoever.  Objects shouldn't be able to move through the other.  How can I fix this??? :)

Tutorial Request .....

Move objects around a maze using touch (Android) or Mouse Down (since both work the same).  So you have more than 1 item to move, there are walls that the object should not be able to pass through, you can move in specific directions (up down, left right).  I'm having a hard time getting an object to move within the walls (without passing through the walls) via touch where it follows your finger/mouse and without passing through other objects.

See if this tutorial helps any.

Have you tried making your character a Child of the Sphere?

PlayMaker Help / Re: Simple score system.
« on: April 04, 2014, 11:09:50 AM »
Not specific for Playmaker, but typically I would assign an empty Game object that keeps track of all these types of items.  When your "item/collider" is being destroyed, you would send a message to your "Score Keeper" telling it that it needs to add points...maybe float myScore=0.0f; then ScoreKeeper.myScore +=200f;  That way you have a single object that keeps track of all the stuff.  Then your Gui would also access the ScoreKeeper and just display whatever myScore is.

Something that might help understand the process as a Whole is this handy little video that Unity put out.  I think if you watch it, it will help you gain an overarching understanding.

You should be able to just attach an FSM to your character and drive those animations.  For instance if you have a Speed variable in your Animator now, then you should be able to see that Speed Variable via the Animator Add-On and change the variable (say to 2).
