PlayMaker Help / How do I get 5 game objects at random out of 10?[SOLVED]

I have 10 game objects that I randomly want to activate into 5 objects and move into place. I've been looking at "select random game object", but that only gives me one object to save in a variable out of the 10. I need to get 5 out of the 10.

In my FSMs that handles the option to drag and drop clothes onto a character, I have a problem that if another finger touches the screen, the piece of clothing teleports to 0,0,0 and I have no idea why. I thought that a good thing to do might be to limit to only notice one finger, the finger that is in action at the moment.

So at the point in where my FSM looks for "Touch Object Event", can I maybe use "Get Touch Count" and then when I am dragging the item around have it locked to only 1 finger so that nothing odd happens if another finger touches the screen during the dragging?

I just ran into a problem that I haven't figured out how to fix yet and I thought that a good idea would be to check the debugger in Xcode and see what happens when I press the iPad screen. The problem that I am having is that I build a fsm where I can drag around 9 shirts and place them on the character. The game is 2d. This fsm works great and I copied it into another scene where the same is used but for 9 jackets instead. I got it all up and running pretty fast and everything works great except that when I drag the jackets, some of them moves behind the other jackets in the scene. They are all positioned on the same Z depth and I had no problem with this on the 9 shirts fsm(or the socks and pants fsm either).

I thought it would maybe be possible to watch in Xcode and see what was going on, but I dont get any info at all there. It gives info when the scene is loaded, but nothing in the debugger is posted when I do stuff in the scene.

Any info on how I can see debugging in Xcode would be much appreciated and also if you have any other suggestions on what could be wrong.


iOS Help / How to touch and drag a 3d object?[SOLVED]

This is a nut I've been unable to crack and I have read and searched and tried numerous things without any luck.

I am trying to drag an object in my scene. Its a 2d setup, so only need to drag it in xy not z. I have tried using Touch Object Event and get it to move, but whatever I try it either moves however it wants/weird or it moves to slow and "drops" and you need to grab the item again.

So how do I go about doing this? I just want to pick a specific object and be able to drag it across the screen following my finger at "full speed".

I have found a lot of similar questions about this, but not a simple understandable answer yet.

How would I go about to do this in Playmaker. Can you give some more info please.


So I have an FSM set up that prints GUI Text like subtitles to my children's book. I've done it so that each new state prints one sentence and have a wait attached that is timed together with the narrators voice for that same one line the narrator speaks for in seconds. After the GUI text and Wait it finishes and moves to next state and prints next sentence in the same fashion.

After a few sentences it goes to a state where it changes the camera orthographic size and zooms in on the scene. In that state it also activates another game object called clothes. Here you are able to choose clothes and dress the character. When finished you press a button and the camera orthographic size goes back to original state(zooms out) and here I would like it to "activate/go back into" the subtitle fsm and continue on next sentence, say sentence 5.

Any ideas on how I go about doing this? On how to go back into an FSM and start from a given state?

When my game starts I want to check if there is already saved a language in playerprefs. I have already managed to save languages in playerprefs, so if a user changes language once in the game, it gets saved and remembered.

However when the game is started for the first time, I want it to check for what the system language on the device is set to. As far as I understand it, you use Application.systemLanguage for this in Unity. How do I use it in Playmaker? I cant find a solution for this. So what I need is

Game starts
Check playerprefs, if key is true = done
If key is false, load application.systemLanguage

Well maybe as you can see Im not a programmer :) Hope anyone can help me out here :)

In my intro scene I have built a settingspanel for the user to be able to set what language they want to have on my app for iOS. The state machine works like this:

Start - State 1. "Touch GUI Event" x 3. Transitions onTouchSwedish onTouchEnglish onTouchGerman. The transitions lead to 3 separate states, Swedish, English and German. In those states I use "Set GUI Text" on another GUI Text object and then it has FINISHED and transitions back to State 1 in order to be able to switch again. I had to put in a wait for 0.1 in the language states since otherwise it didn't transition back through FINISHED to state 1.

What I am struggling now with is how I will go about to "save" the chosen language setting and "pick it up" in other scenes. When I go in to another scene I already have an FSM in their playing audio and text as if it was a cartoon with narrative voice and subtitles. However I need to make the FSM know what language it should write the subtitles in and what language the voice should be in. So how do I save it and pick it up in an other scene?

As far as I understand it I should use Player Prefs. Thats about as far as I have gotten :) Please help me, Im really the super noob here :)

I can only find Set GUI Text and not 3D text in Playmaker. How do I go about to print 3D text in my scene?

I'm new to Playmaker and pretty new to Unity. My friend has knowledge in Javascript but he has only been working in Unity for a short while and now we have gotten stuck and need your help.

We are creating an interactive children's book and have set the Camera to Orthographic and the size changes through a script he created depending on if it runs on Ipad or Iphone according to aspect ratio.

What we are getting stuck on is that we have been creating a 3d cube or a quad and been trying to create a state machine that would allow us to touch it and move it over the screen following the finger. We have for instance used touch object event and get touch info and set position. We have tried a few different approaches but end up on the same problems. If we use normalize the object moves but only in a very tiny little piece of the screen and is slow. If we dont normalize as soon as we move the finger the object teleports away, last we checked to somewhere -200 Y. Can anyone tell us what is going on. What are we missing?

I have nice curly hair and I would like it to stay that way and not get bold from tearing my hair off from this. Thanks :)
