Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it already but you can only have one main camera it looks like. It didn't work.

Need help on this! Is what I am reading true, that Touch Object Event Only works for the Main Camera? How do I solve this? This is very limiting.

No it doesn't work because I need this for Mobile, iOS/Android and this action, WWWObjectRelative is not for Mobile like WWWPostMobile is.

PlayMaker Help / GUI Camera
« on: June 06, 2014, 09:54:41 PM »
So I finally took the time to create a separate camera for GUI. Before I had everything in just one "Main Camera" which was problematic when I wanted to zoom in with orthograpic size.

Everything works great and I have set the GUI Camera to depth 1 and depth only. The only problem I have is that only the GUI Camera is working with the touch. So when I touch the menu stuff and GUI items in the scene that are located in the GUI Camera, it works great, but the stuff that should be touchable (Touch Object Event) in the Main Camera doesn't work. If I add that the Main Camera is Main Camera from the Action Browser I get the Main Camera object to work with touch but not the GUI Camera items. I want the items with Colliders and "Touch Object Event" in both cameras to be working at the same time. What am I missing?

Ohh, I was suggested to use this instead of WWW POST Mobile in order to make use of Audio. Hmm.

No errors. It says that it compiles, Playmaker gets grey and then it reloads and still nothing. I am able to add other add-ons.

No, only deprecated playmaker stuff in console. Tried to install it from the Ecosystem first and it didn't show up in the action browser. Deleted it restarted Unity and then tried installing it from this download instead, but still no luck. I am running Unity 3d v4.3.4f1 and Playmaker 1.7.7F6

Thank you for the reply. I know a bit about POST and PHP, I am studying that right now, but also have friends that are really good at that. I think I can get it working.

However I installed the ecosystem and have installed the WWWObjectRelative through that and it says it is installed and I see it in the customs actions folder, but it doesn't show up in the action browser.

Do you have any info on how to use the WWWPOSTMobile?

The apps we are making is free from ads and in-app purchase etc since our target are kids. However when we release a new app we wan't to let the previous customers/buyers know that we have a new app out. We also sometimes run competitions or price reductions that would be nice to promote within our own apps to be able to reach out to our customers through cross promoting.

Instead of having to send in an updated version with the new info every time we want to change the message I was thinking that we should use the and access items on a server we have set up. In that way we would be able to replace the content when a competition ends and replace with something else and easily make it change.

What I was thinking of having is like a screen after we show our company logo pop up with a fullsize texture/image covering the whole screen with the info we want to promote at the time. Also have an audio/MP3 play, reading the info for the kid/parent.

Would I be able to use this action in order to achieve this?

URL, I guess is where I will put in the www adress to the server?
POST Data POST, what is this?
Store Texture, does this mean "get the texture from the server and store it in a texture variable"?
Is there a way to do that as well for audio?

Do you have any suggestions on how to set this up?
I downloaded another action "Check for internet" that I think could be useful here as well.

FSM - Check for internet. If Off - play content, if On - do WWW.Post. Check if an Int has changed maybe that I get from server, if not changed - play content, if changed - download and save texture and audio in variable. Then set texture and set audio. Then play content.

What do I need on the server side? Do I need an SQL database or what do I store the texture and mp3 file as/in?

Another aspect I am a bit worried about is if someone would hack the server and change the picture to a pornographic or other crazy thing. Any suggestion on security strategy to prevent this?

No I don't. Guess it wouldn't be to bad to get it though, just haven't done it since I haven't needed it so far. I am in no hurry anymore to get this solved since I didn't get the contract unfortunately, but it would still be great to have it sorted to be able to use it in the future in other projects or to implement it in current apps where it could be useful.

I kind of understand the theory of how to do it. I just don't manage to figure out how to do it with the tools I have in Playmaker. I will probably go "ahhh" how stupid of me, when I see the solution heh, but I have a hard time on how to actually make it work.

Hi, I am back :)  I am now back to this problem over a year later, crazy. I have a new project where I need to drag the scene around(alternatively move the camera). It is 2d. I have the background and all the objects in the scene grouped under an empty object I call "wrapper". The camera is "zoomed in"(lower orthograpic size). I have set the "wrapper" to be draggable and can move the whole scene around with my finger on the iPad. The problem is that when I release the finger from the screen and then put it back on to continue moving it the "wrapper" resets the center point to where the finger is.

What is it in the fsm that makes the object, in this case the "wrapper", move and center to the position? What can I do to make it start from the position it is currently in without resetting to the finger.

I also need to set a limit on how much you can drag it in x/y position, so that you don't drag outside the edges of the texture image. Any suggestions on this?

Nevermind, solved it myself.

When I pick object as variable, I needed to change it to object/audio clip. That worked.

So I have a part in our next app where the kids are going to sort some fruit. I have set up ArrayMaker so that it picks random fruit. When the kid picks a fruit I want it to say "Yellow Banana" etc. I have all fruit random picked. So each time the kid plays the game they have 6 fruits to sort out of 15 randomised fruits. For the audio I also created and array with the corresponding audio clip for the fruit in the fruit array. My FSM pick a fruit and stores and that works well and the array for the sound picks correct sound for it and I store it in global variables.

The problem though is when I got to my other FSM, that handles the fruit sorting. When I look at Play sound, I can only choose to put a audio clip in. If I click on the button to pick variables I have nothing to choose there. Audio clips I have stored are stored as objects.

Help :)
