PlayMaker Help / Re: Typing in Playmaker Editor SLOW
« on: September 15, 2020, 01:57:44 AM »
djaydino...first of all the project doesn't have too many FSMs especially compared to previous projects. Second, I tried a brand new projects and in the first FSM it is almost as slow as in my working project. Interestingly enough nothing else in Unity is running slowly. When I do anything else in the project it works like normal.

PlayMaker Help / Typing in Playmaker Editor SLOW
« on: September 07, 2020, 03:57:22 AM »
For the past weeks I've been having a very annoying problem. Typing in the editor has become horribly slow. If I'm typing the name of a state or FSM or the description it shows what I've typed at the rate of about one character per second (I tested it with a stopwatch.) This is leading to a lot of errors, slowing development and making me wonder what could have happened. Hope someone has some insights.

I'm using: Playmaker 1.9.0p20 in Unity 2019.4.1f1

PlayMaker Help / Re: Updating usages... slows down typing
« on: September 07, 2020, 03:45:01 AM »
I'm also having a problem with typing in the Playmaker Editor being very slow and at first I thought it was because of the updating of the usages, but there is a way to turn that off by clicking the settings icon in the top right of the Actions window and turning off "Auto Refresh Action Usage."

Thought I should share this right now as I'm trying to find the solution for why my Playmaker has gotten to be annoyingly slow.

Hope you find the solution too!

PlayMaker Help / Re: Setting Game Object at Runtime

@Thore I've been working on a new game using Corgi for about six months now and it gets extremely difficult for non-coders when trying to customize it. Good luck.

Sorry for the late reply...ran into so many problems trying to replace the player variable at runtime that I've pretty much given up at it right now. Hope to return to this issue later and see if I can learn enough to fix it. Really appreciate the help!

PlayMaker Help / Setting Game Object at Runtime
« on: April 21, 2020, 08:57:20 AM »
I'm using Playmaker and the Corgi Engine for my new game. Up until now I've been using a Player Prefab I created and have it set in Corgi as the Player, but now I've made an Avatar Creator which saves the Player Avatar as a Game Object variable, but I can't just set it at runtime. I know this has something to do with setting an Object variable, but I just don't understand the procedure for doing this. Is there any documentation about the order of setting up an Object variable, getting the property of the component which needs to be set and then setting it???

PlayMaker Help / Re: Rotating UI Images
« on: April 04, 2020, 12:17:46 PM »
I'm confused. It works okay when I have it set with ONLY the "Every Frame" option checked. If I have both "Every Frame" and "Every Second" it doesn't rotate at all. Any ideas?

Hey Jean...does that animate it so it rotates 1 degree per frame?

PlayMaker Help / Rotating UI Images
« on: April 03, 2020, 03:19:08 AM »
I have a button and have added an empty...and then some images which I want to have on the button. Now I want to rotate the images. If in the editor I rotate the empty on the Z it does exactly what I want, but have tried several different actions, Rotate, Rotate Advanced, Rotate and a few DOTween actions, but nothing works. How do I rotate something in UI?

Thanks!

PlayMaker Help / Re: Tap to Dismiss Game Title Screen
« on: March 14, 2020, 03:11:12 AM »
I was still struggling with this, but found a very short video which solved the problem for me. I was trying to trigger a global event from the button, but I didn't have it setup properly. If anyone else has this challenge please check out the video by Phoenix Grimm at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=55&v=MowG-3LjXFs&feature=emb_logo

Quick and concise explanation which not only solve this problem for me, but also taught me a key thing about triggering events.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Jean...would that be the "UI Button On Click Event" action or am I missing something?

PlayMaker Help / Tap to Dismiss Game Title Screen[SOLVED]
« on: March 11, 2020, 12:29:14 AM »
I know this is a super simple thing, but unfortunately I haven't been able to figure it out after trying several different ideas. Very strange. Trying to make it so when a player taps mobile screen during the game title it immediately loads the next scene. Have tried a few different actions, even tried making a button the size of the whole screen, but just can't get it to work.

I have a Canvas (Screen Space - Overlay) with a Image set to 1920x1080 set to stretch full screen. What do I use to catch a mobile screen tap and then move to the Load Scene state/action?

Me and one dev friend both faced this issue and it was immediately fixed when the Global Variables window was closed. Wonder if this bug has been reported to Hutong? It is annoying especially when one needs to be referring to the Globals while working on FSMs.
