General Discussion / [SOLVED] Unity Sword man setup

Hi !

It's okey when working with standard objects + playmaker.
When started to work with real objects , I don't know what to do.

I have a lowpoly character with sword on his hands. Gameplay is, character will keep running with sword. When we tap/press key, he should slash and kill enemy while running.

How to do this? I animated model for running and slashing with mixamo. But, i want him to slash while running.

Hi !

Still learning Playmaker. I am familiar with Unity, but not much. I just wanna know how to get the effect like shown in screenshot. Like foggy effect for minimal game. I found neon effect by emissive & bloom tutorials.

What are the name of properties required to make a scene like this? So, I will take some time to learn it.

That would be great, but I think I tween move uses translate and not physics force. Am I wrong about that? The problem I'm having is when you translate, collisions are overridden or something. Only using force can you get good physics collisions.
I am beginner to Playmaker.

Hi !

I finally able to create an STRAIGHT endless road by repeating the qube tiles in a loop.

But, How to make an Endless Road like this with curves?
Please watch this video. Watch minimum 30 seconds to get the point.

I couldn't figure out the logic. Just give me basic hint, I will dig and research more.

 your 6th barrel not moving is really weird...

also, to replicate Donkey King barrel, plain physics will not be enough, you will need to adjust the barrel speed and direction as it hits or leave a platform.

-- when it leaves a platform, give it a push down in force using acceleration or velocity ( not force) so that it goes down quicker.

-- when it touches the new platform, give it a push on the direction is should roll, so that it doesn't keep on rolling with its momentum in the wrong direction.

-- also play with mass and physics material to have it rebound slightly when it fall onto a new platform.

then, you'll be closed to the DK's barrel behavior.

In my case, Movement and Jump FSm should be disabled when player collided with enemy. FSM worked, but I also got same error as you. That can be fixed by adding new state with NEXT FRAME EVENT action.

Hi !

I am new. Learning Playmaker.
Created a Donkey Kong prototype.

I am facing Issue on Barrel Spawn Mechanism.

I set a trigger collider. Once barrel triggered that, new barrel will spawn on spawn point.

Suddenly, 6th barrel spawned is not moving.  Also barrel also rolling damn slow. How to increase the speed?

i see that your set rotations are done in WorldSpace while the addforce is done in self.
maybe you should consider putting some consistency inbetween both things.

Instructor's demo video showing perfect gameplay, but not his project. I tried as you said, not working. Looks like I have to learn again :) Thank you for the help  :)

It's only off on the first time right? I'd try adding a "next frame event" action on your set rotation states, so it only moves on the next frame

Hi !

Again, Following a Skillshare course.

When I pressed W, It's fine.

1st : I press W. Player will hop forward. (Default Position is 180'o looking forward)
2nd : I press S. Player should be rotated to 0' degree and go back.

But, when I press S, player is moving front while rotating to 0'degree. Pls watch the video.

It is because rigidbody uses physics and overrides the itween move

You can use for example 'Set Velocity' (every frame)
And you might want to make a parent (cube or capsule) and place the rigidbody there.
You can disable the mesh to make it invisible.
Then also do some constrains on the rotation so it wont roll over.
Then drop in your 'ground enemy'
and do the movement on the parent.

Parenting is a very common thing with character (and other things) as it give a lot more freedom of what to do with them.

What course you where following?

1. Don't get where to add Velocity thing

2. I tried many thing, nothing worked well.

3. I added empty game object and added rigidbody to it. And made it as parent. it worked. But, not working perfectly.
