PlayMaker Bug Reporting / Global Variable Names Changing (Can Reproduce)

Hello, there is a bug I am experiencing where global variables will take the names of other global variables. This makes it impossible to use them in FSM's until you restart unity.

Playmaker version 1.9.0

Unity Version 2019.2.9f1


1. Set a global variable in an FSM using an action.
(I've tested this with Set Int Value and Set String value).

2. Change the global variable being set.

3. Undo the change (Control Z)

The second variable will take the name of the first variable until you restart unity (this only happens for global variables).

A workaround is to simply never undo changing global variables, and to just change them again manually.

Hello, I'm currently writing dialogue for my game by using a string variable and modifying that string in different states.

I've been using "Set String Value," but the text field is a bit inconvenient. It doesn't display on a new line once you reach the end of the box like unity text components, it just keeps going, and this makes it difficult to read.

I am using another text app to write the text out first, and then just copy/pasting to the string value box, but if I want to quickly check what states say what in my FSM, I have to scroll through the text only viewing a handful of characters at a time. This makes quickly identifying large paragraphs really annoying.

Another problem is that when a state has enough actions to include a scroll bar, the scroll bar actually cuts off the end of the text, which makes it difficult to check for errors as you can't see the punctuation at the end of your line. (Picture attached; there is a period at the end, but no way to see it).

So basically, I was wondering if there is better way to view and modify strings in states. My current setup using "Set String Value" is really convenient, the only thing I really want is a text box that automatically includes line breaks, so I can easily read my text.

Hello, I would like to elaborate on three bugs I've encountered in playmaker. I will list what each of them are and then elaborate afterwards.

Playmaker version 1.9.0
Unity version 2019.2.9f1

1: Global Variable window causes typing in states to lose focus.
2: Global Variable duplication glitch.
3: Actions not copy/pasting/moving and vanishing.

The first and by far the most annoying is that I can't keep the global variable window  open; if I do, I can't name states or type at all in playmaker states (action browser works fine). I think this is a known issue, I just wanted to say that I am experiencing it too and it happens to me 100% of the time.

The second is that while I was copy/pasting actions, one of my Global Variables (Constitution) was renamed to "Dexterity" so I had two GV's named Dexterity. I can't reproduce this, and miraculously restarting unity changed it back, just thought this was worth mentioning. We can't rename Global Variables, so the names changing randomly could really mess with a project. Screenshot attached.

The third bug is kind of broad, but sometimes playmaker actions don't copy/paste,
or they get deleted randomly when I paste something. The same happens when I re-order actions in a state, sometimes actions get deleted instead of moved. I noticed this happens very consistently with the "UI Text Set Text" action that can be accessed by dragging text into a state. I have a video attached showing this. When I re-order it, it just vanishes. This also happens frequently when I copy/paste, and it can take minutes to get the action working (this sometimes happens with other actions too).

If anyone has any solutions to any of these (particularly 1 and 3), I would love to hear them. Thank you, and have a great day!

Though, I actually went ahead and bought Puppet2D instead. It's way easier to use than DragonBones and works great with PlayMaker.

PM is such an awesome tool, I'm having a great time with it.

PlayMaker Help / How to play DragonBones animations at runtime?

I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to play DragonBones' animations at runtime.

I've dragged the "unity armature component" into a state and selected "set property." However, I can't seem to figure out which property controls the animations. I figured it would be one of the string properties, but nothing I do seems to work.

I know pretty much nothing about coding, and would really like to accomplish this with playmaker.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.
