I know this has probably been asked before but I can't find a answer.  I am writing a game that uses some c#, javascript and playmaker.  I want the variables to be in playmaker, so was wondering if you could change a playmaker global variable from c#.

The other option is just to make all variables in c# script and access then from playmaker.  I can do this as well, but am trying to move more towards playmaker for everything.

I have been trying to use translate but it seems to not work right.  I am using RC40 of PM with latest unity.

I created a capsule that I want to fall down.  It instead goes to bottom left.  If you look at the XYZ you will see it changes multiple areas and not just the Y axis.  I have tried turning stuff off and changing the rotation but it still keeps doing this.

The clamp issue is normalized verses world space.  If you set the paddle movement with set position then the colliders don't have an effect.  I wrote something like that in a space invaders game using javascript.

Also, how do you clamp the mouse position on screen?  I have a breakout paddle that I do not want to go to the edge of the screen.  Things are normalized 0-1 but the paddle object has a x-y-z in world space.

So basically, I want to use a mouse to move a paddle in breakout left and right.  I have 'get axis' and store the float in a variable.  So how would I use this to move the paddle left and right?  This has got to have been asked before,  I can do it in C# but not sure in playmaker.

Edit:
I tried using the action 'follow mouse' but it follows on X and Y.  I just needed 1 axis.  Maybe someone could modify that action to allow X, Y or both?

Feature Requests / Change green to darker color

In the PM editor, the green is wimpy.  Either make is a darker shade or make it bolder.  I can see the other colors buy can not see the green lines in the editor.

PlayMaker Help / How do you check/read a javascript variable?

So I have a variable being set in javascript "CoinsHas.coinsLeft".  The player must have enough coins to play the game.  Otherwise, he must watch a video to get coins.  When he doesn't have any coins left, the button to play is inactive.  The button is shown, but he can not use it.  When I use the joystick with playmaker, I bypass this because I am not checking to see if "CoinsHas.coinsLeft" <0.  the joystick is being controlled by playmaker.  So I need to check what the value is from playmaker so I can decide if to allow the person to use the button.

So I was wondering how do I see what the value of this JavaScript Integer from playmaker?  Also, just so I know, how do you change the value from playmaker as well?

I've tried set property but can't find where the script part is.
here is setup for javascript variable so it does not show up in inspector.

try 'Vertical Move' instead.  The playmaker action uses the NAME and not the actual button.  So you can press C or press joystick button 2 (BTW, they both should be positive so you can press either.  You have 1 as pos and one as neg).

- Version 1.744 will not export out to windows 10 store universal.  I was wondering if the beta 1.8 RC 37 will.  Also, are there any issues by doing so (bugs).

- Version 1.774 you can not change the name of global variables.  Does 1.80 RC 37 allow you to change the names of global variables?

- Do you still need array maker in 1.80 RC 37?

OK, here are errors in the console.  I had 1.772P2 and upgraded to 1.80RC37.  This comes from a project that doesn't have much in it.  There were 53 errors.  I had to delete everything related to playmaker and then reload the project and then install 1.8 RC37 fresh.  Then there were no errors.  If you need the project I can zip and upload.  it's just a demo right now.

Project #4.
No warnings.

I did the same thing as project #3 and got the same results.   You have to update all FSMs in the build to get rid of the warnings.  Otherwise, you get them after playing the game every time.

Project #5
Can't test.  I spent 1.5 years working on this full time and lost the global variables 3 months ago.  Bummer.  there were hundreds of them.  I had to delete off the playmaker stuff to install a new version.  O well.

I'll load in a old 1774 version and upgrade it.  I'll send you the errors.

project #3:  Errors no longer there.

OK, I have found out how to get rid of the errors in RC37.

You have to go to playmaker/tool/update all FSMs in build.

If you don't, then you will keep on getting the errors after every time you play the game.

As far as the global variables goes.

- I export the global variables.  they turn up in the project main area.
- I delete everything playmaker but that file.
- I re-load the project.
- The global variables are no longer there.

Now, I tried doing the same thing but did NOT delete playmaker and the global variables is there.  It seems as if you delete playmaker and reload the project, the global variables will no longer be there.

picture 1 shows global variables at the bottom.

I just did this a 4th time and this time the global variables stayed after the reload HOWEVER I did copy them to the desktop first.  Not sure if that did anything.

SUGGESTION:  Have the name of the project in the title of the exported global variables name. That way you can have several in a folder somewhere as backups and know which is which.

Project #2:
     The errors for the FSMs are not there.  Deleted all playmaker stuff, reinstalled.  Now this time the errors stayed until I reloaded the project.  So 2 projects are OK.  I would say 1.8 RC37 fixed the errors.
