I cant get my head around Animations

I can animate my sprite fine if i write the code manually and use unitys animator to link states.

However I cannot get the playmaker "play anim" to fire correctly.

Because I am converting my working coded flappy bird game into playmaker I am struggling to actually achieve what my code can do.

I have been trying a few options and I am now at the dead end where it could eb something else.

Hey I am not sure if this is your issue but you might need your character and animation to be set to legacy to use that play animation action. I had the same issue.

How do I set animations to Legacy please?

When you import your model, you set the animation type under the rig section:
