First up, I posted something similar in response to an older thread within this topic, sorry for posting twice.
I have started making video tutorial that are focused on 2d game design and construction using playmaker. Thought I would create a quick thread to share what some of my plans are and see what the group thinks:
- 4 to 6 hrs of walkthrough based video tutorials
- Build challenges that will allow you to put into practice what you observed during the walkthrough videos by building things that are related to what you just watched. You would do your best to build and a solution video would be provided when you're done or when you're stuck.
- A learning community site where participants can learn from one another, new build challenges will be posted (and solved) and focused game design articles and discussions will be available.
I'm thinking of charging a one-time fee of $30 to gain access to the tutorials and learning community. What do you think? Would you pay $30 for something like this? What kind of game mechanics would you be interested in building?
