Teacher Needs Help! Json Parsing Error
« on: October 02, 2017, 03:05:32 PM »
Howdy all,

I am teaching a group of fantastic high school kids Unity and Playmaker. We've all enjoyed our time so far in the software, but now that we are trying to use the Ecosystem Browser we have hit that dreaded snag...

Json Parsing Error

I've read all the forums and tried all the tricks. We have spammed the search bar, downloaded/installed from Playmaker and the GitHub website, etc. No luck!

What is odd, it will work for me (teacher) but not the rest of my 28 students. We are dead in the water. What should I do?

Hi,
Are your version of unity/playmaker/Ecosystem the same as on the other ones?

Hi,
Can you try with the latest Ecosystem (0.5.3 at the moment) , there are known issues with 0.5.2 and unity 2017.1

Thank you. Where would I find the newest version if it isn't offered here on Hutong Games' website?

Correction: We are in 0.5.3.

Since I am at a school, blocked internet websites are sometimes a problem. Is there anywhere that it is pulling it's searches from? Maybe that is the issues?

Or can I give my kids the UGUI actions myself?

Figured out that I can get the .cs code and share it with kids. Would still like to figure out the problem for the future. But we can go this route for now.

If not mistaken, they are pulled from here:
https://github.com/jeanfabre

For separate actions .cs will work, but for uGUI for example you need proxy and Editor stuff too.

Hi,
Yes most of the actions can be found on jean's github

I have test on unity 2017.1.0p4, pm 1.8.5 and Ecosystem, and it seems to work fine

if on your machine that can connect to the Ecosystem :
search for the ugui proxy full package and click 'preview' the go up one to the ugui folder and get the unitypackage there.

here is the link to that package :
