The
YouTube tutorials (also from 2012) are where I started out about 2 years ago, there were parts that were a bit dated (just simple things in Unity that are a bit more streamlined now), and you'll need to find your own assets (there are plenty of free ones on the Unity Asset store), but overall the concepts of PlayMaker and coding haven't changed, so they're very helpful and they take you through everything at a great pace.
I found it helpful to go through the tutorials and my own personal project simultaneously, constantly applying what I had just learned to a "real" problem. Good luck!
