FPS Microgame & Playmaker

Wasn't sure where to post this because I don't know which program is at fault, but I had a strange error occur when using the Unity FPS Microgame with Playmaker. I am using Unity 2019.4.18 LTS.

The FPS Microgame functions correctly before and after Playmaker is added into the project. However if I add a Playmaker FSM to any object in the scene, all of the FPS Microgame input for that scene apart from the mouse click stops working. If I remove the FSM the problem still remains. The problem only affects that scene because if I load a duplicate of the scene, (before I have added any Playmaker FSMs) then the scene runs fine.

I know I guess it could be anything but I have managed to reproduce this consistently, with Playmaker 1.9.0 and Playmaker 1.9.1. I guess what I really want to know is if anything like this has happened to anyone else with the microgames or otherwise because I really don't understand why its happening. Is there any other reason this should happen?
I guess I haven't tried Unity 2020 yet to see if it still occurs. But still.
