Clamp a 2D ship in on screen position

Hi there,
I am following the 2D shooter tutorial of Romi Fauzi. I am now working on the task to keep my ship on-screen with Float Clamp and Set Position. It shall keep the ship in bounds: it works for X nicely, but Z gets permanent values that let the ship "jump" up and down. It looks as if the ship is on the upper end and the lower end of the screen at the same time ... Float Clamp for Z and X looks absolutely similar.

As a newbie, I am a bit clueless ...
Does someone have an idea of what's going on here?
