Copyright and playmaker
« on: January 15, 2023, 01:01:49 PM »
Hello,

Do I have the right to use playmaker actions in my game? Do I have to worry about copyright? What about actions from the ecosystem browser or the forum? What about linker wizard? It’s all code someone wrote so what do I need to do if anything to be in the clear in terms of copyright. Thanks!

I’m not a lawyer and this is not legal advice but I would say you have to buy the software and with it you acquire the code base. Same as for Unity. Regarding the ecosystem it’s a freely available pool of actions where users like you contributed. I believe everything in it is copyleft.

Hi.
Using Playmaker / Actions and selling games / apps made with it are no problem.

Selling Actions you did not make is another thing.

if you open one of the actions scripts, they should have a Copyright license you can look up what the license means :)
